The biggest surprise of round 1 for me was The Americans beating Firefly. Firefly is a cult classic and loved around here and I just didnt know The Americans was that popular

The Americans is a fantastic show. In my opinion, the best ever.

Incredible storytelling and acting. Never a clunker episode. Continued twist of the spring raising the tension and the stakes. One of the greatest series finales of all time.

In sum...you could be the reddest blooded rah-rah America frick yeah patriot and watching this show you find yourself rooting for KGB agents.

agreed. one of the few shows that I don't think ever had a down episode or down season. Every year it got better and better and the final payoff did the show justice.

Firefly only having one season doesn't help either. That is, unless you count Serenity

I have my hopes in The Wire somehow overcoming BB and GoT...it is the more complete show by leaps and bounds...but that probably won't happen.

Even with your argument of best vs popular it's still subjective. Here for example you firmly believe The Wire is a more complete and better show than BB. Well i disagree they are close but I think BB is a better show. Not one i simply like more or enjoyed more just better.

Just because your "best" and my "best" ideas at a show differ doesn't mean either one of us are right are wrong. It just means we have different tastes. Something being more popular and winning a voting format doesn't mean it was in injustice. It means there are more people that enjoyed that particular show better than the one you think is best. Semantics I know but there is a reason some things are more popular than others. and essentially this is what it is about.

I thought The Americans was a really good show, but I don’t agree that it got better and better every season. Felt like seasons 4 and 5 kinda plateaued a bit. It’s a show that never really had any low points, but there also weren’t many instances were I was blown away either. Just a good show throughout. I will say it had one of the best finales, which has proven to be hard to pull off
