just saw the survivor scene again and since i questioned what it needs protecting from earlier, i bring it up. Sawyer told Jacob that MIB said there wasn't anything to protect the light/island from. Jacob's reply was:
"you have to protect it from him"
it still doesn't make sense to me. what was knotty mommy hair protecting it from then? i agree smoke already existed, but it was already inside the waterfall. you would also have to explain the various purging when outsiders threatened the light.

Right. Because of the ashes Hurley had.
My point is that it's not like people could just randomly see him how...there was purpose to it, and reasons that allowed it.
And you keep harping on Jacob specifically, when he of all people can do things like that..because he is NOT human/mortal. He is something more. Hell, even Sawyer said "god-like" last night when he made fun of Jack and his god complex.

That's what I'm saying for a few pages now. It could be a ploy by Jacob, but he definitely specifically said last night that it had to be protected FROM MIB.

Not sure we do, but in various places, such as in the untangled for that episode, the ones who died in the sub are named off and Lapidus isn't mentioned. Could just be a tease though, that could be justified by him being a minor character not worth mentioning. But then how would you explain how the island insisted on him being there if he had no purpose?

Is it me, or has a long time gone by between setting up for the concert and the concert taking place? Seems that you wouldn't put nice silverware out more than a day in advance. Meanwhile, Locke undergoes back surgery and a full recovery in this period, so how long of a time period are we talking about?

Well Charlie cancelled out on them due to prison and the hospital to where they probably had to delay it. Charlie is probably back on board now since thats where Desmond is heading, and they've probably maintained contact.

I thought Charlie just left Desmond at the hospital, and it didn't seem like they were going to be pen pals or anything.

That happened day 2. A week has passed. Charlie has likely been caught somewhere and Desmond doesn't seem to have any remote problem finding people or knowing about stuff he should not know about.
