Here are the times on itunes for the last few episodes. There are no commercials, but they do show the "Previously on.." and "Next on.." segments.

Ep6 - 43:01
Ep7 - 44:05
Ep8 - 44:04
Ep9 - 48:37
Ep10 - 44:05

Most episodes are right at 44 minutes. Last week's extended ep (TV was an hour and 6 minutes) looks like it had about 4.5 minutes of extra show and 1.5 minutes of extra commercials.

The shortest time for the season is Pt2 of the Premiere at 42:54 and the longest besides last week is the Lighthouse at 45:01.

I'm guessing the reason it seems like more commercials is because we're so engrossed in the story and hate being pulled out of it, so the breaks stand out more. I watched an episode live and felt the same way, only to find out it had the least commercial time of all of them. It's not really noticeable watching on a DVR.

Sayid is done.... I think him not being able to feel anything is them telling us that he is spiritually dead... He will not be redeemed and will end up dead and no one will really care since his soul has already died.

I don't think MIB was lying about having a problem crossing the water. He obviously has to use a boat.

WHy he took his shoes off when crossing from hydra to mainland last season still confuses me but the writers are not gonna throw something as big as him not being able to travel over the water as smoke out there only to say ohhh we were just joking. He seemed pretty serious when he said if he could he would but he cant.

It'll be interesting next week to see if (1) they show Des in the sideways world OR (2) they do a flashback showing how Widmore got Des and brought him back to the Island. I'm much more interested in seeing option number 2.

i think it will be a flash sideways... we saw desmond on the plane and yes i am pretty sure he was really there.

maybe we will see a flash sideways and a flashback.. or maybe des will just explain what happened.

i just think the only reason we got a richard flashback is because it was necessary... we knew nothing of him.

The preview on abc.com showed Desmond talking to Claire as they were picking up their luggage after landing LA.

Funny, I didn't see this on the previews they showed last night. I hope you are not referring to the sneak peak.

It was a clip that comes up when you go to their site. I have no idea. Did I break some rule?

If it was an extended clip rather than a promo then it was the sneak peak. I think most people here probably watch it but I don't. While technically they are spoilers, I don't think they reveal too much but I prefer not to look at them (or know what they are even about).

It was like 30 or 45 seconds.

Guess I'll be overly careful from now on. I figured since it automatically came up on their site it wasn't that big of a deal. I didn't have to click on anything, it just automatically started playing.

Not a big deal. It'll probably save me some time from further exploring the possibility that Desmond magically appeared then disappeared while on the flight.

Just don't start posting spoilers as your own theories of we'll have you join Ryno in time out.

Not to worry, I don't read the spoiler sites.

I didn't really get what FLocke was chasing after Sun for or more importantly why he just left her once she hit her head. Seems like whatever he was chasing her for he could have gotten by either taking her or waiting till she woke up.

Also Flocke is doing a piss poor job of recruitment right now. The only candidate he has in the bag is Sayid (who is basically a Zmobie and may or may not be a candidate). It looked like he had Sawyer, but he has been giving Flocke the finger as of late.

Because they have to choose whether they go with him or not. They've made a big deal about people having choices, like when Jacob tells Ben he still has a choice before Ben stabs him. If he just kidnaps her, there isn't really much choice involved.

Kate.

He thinks he can get both Jack and Sawyer if he can get Kate, even if she isn't a candidate.

Kate is going to be enormously important to the end of the series.

Sawyer wants off the Island, so in a sense he doesnt have to much besides getting him to the plane.

Whats bugging me is how does he not know which Kwon is the candidate? Or maybe he does and knows the only way to get either off the Island is to have them together.

Am I wrong in that I heard Jack say that they needed to get to the plane and leave?

Hurley seems to be the one that will be the toughest to get off the Island. All Jacob has to do is appear and tell him that he cant leaave and why.

I agree. I don't remember the exact quote but mib basically said as much to Claire.

Basically what MiB said was that Kate use to be a candidate, but isn't anymore. HOW-EVA, there are 3 more people MiB needs in order to get off the Island, and he believes that Kate is essential to him getting all 3. But once Kate helps him get these people on the plane, then "whatever happens, happens". So he kinda gave Claire the go ahead to do whatever she wants w/ Kate once they leave the Island.

Kate can definitely influence Sawyer and Jack, but (a) Kate doesn't seem to be on "team Locke" and
(b) The new Jack seems to be on a mission and isn't gonna be influenced easily

Jin/Sun don't seem to be fans of Flocke, but yeah their desire to be together and with their child may get them off Island. Hurley seems impossible right now. Also the other candidate(s) is probably Lapidus and/or Ben who are loyal to Llana at the moment.

I still don't think he needs to get them all off the Island. If they die/someone else kills them, then that is just as good. That may be a better strategy for MIB.

I think that if MIB got Sayid to his side by showing him his life in the alternate reality, I think that that also would be a very enticing offer for Jack, since he would be a much better father to his son than his father was to him. I think Hurley would certainly be the hardest and almost impossible to recruit. The only thing I can think of that he could bribe Hurley with is if Libby and Hurley are together in the sideways universe (which is possible since they were both in the mental institution in the original timeline).
