May have been discussed already... who do YOU think is Jack's wife in alt. timeline?

My best guess is Juliet. I thought they were divorced/separated in the flash-sideways though.

I think its Juliet, who is the most notable character to not make it into the sideflashes yet. Plus Juliet and David do look alot alike:

I'm think that as well, I believe as most of you they all end up at the hospital...& the last or close to the last scene of the season will be Jack and Sawyer having a casual conversation. Then Juliet shows up and Sawyer has total recall of island and Sawyer gets the big eye and looks at Jack then the BIG BLACK LOST sign comes on the picture....the end.

I think she'll meet both of them, just not at the same time. She'll meet Sawyer in a coffee house, while she'll just see Jack when he drops David back off.

and you felt that was due to them burying Locke's body?

i doubt it because they were going to leave without burying him and someone (can't remember who) said they should at least bury him before leaving.

Anyone else think that if this show had not been aired no one would ever notice? Felt totally irrelevant.

I wonder what would bring Sawyer to that coffee shop?

Also, what happened to Desmond meeting Penny at a coffee shop one hour after they met in the stadium (flash-sideways)? Would this be the same coffee shop that you reference? It seems like we totally missed Desmond's & Penny's date because the next action in the flash-sideways takes place during the day. Either 1) we the audience totally miss their date, 2) there is an inconsistency in the flash-sideways (if Desmond is ever to see Penny at the coffee shop) or 3) there is a lot more going on with Desmond than we realize.

Edit: if Desmond does end up meeting Penny at the coffee shop, maybe Sawyer, fresh on the tail of a hit & run suspect, catches up to them at the coffee shop, and that is when he runs into Juliet.

I don't know...I hope it is all pulled together somehow.

Another confusing thing about Claire is that she previously said to either Jin or Sawyer that she hasn't been alone, that she has spent time with her friend (MIB) and her dad, as though she thought they were two different people.

Last night, she acted as though she knew MIB was posing as her dad.

i thought thought the same thing. i hope they didn't just frick up.

i won't say you cant' be right. but i don't think you are. i don't think jacks "true love" is juliet. they weren't exactly a couple very long.

i wouldn't be surprise if it was just his ex-wife from the original timeline.

I just don't see them killing main characters off, even though I wish they would.

Well it not that simple, because on this show there are essentially two of each character with the flash sideways and the island timeline going on so they could easily kill off a character in one and they still be alive in the other timeline.
Will be interesting to find out the mechanics of how they initiate the end of the show.

My big question now is what is the "big sacrifice" that Widmore wants Desmond to make. Whatever it is, it seems that Desmond has embraced it fully.

I love his line from Everybody Loves Hugo, "What is the point of being afraid?" Shows a total transformation from the coward that he was known as through his life.

a cool parallel to Charlie back in the Looking Glass when Desmond told him he was going to die and Charlie finally embraced it and did what had to be done with no fear of the outcome.

You just described their flash-sideways life too. They weren't truly in love and didn't last very long. That's probably why they would be divorced in the flash-sideways.

They'd be divorced in this timeline to where they still wouldn't be "true loves". Sawyer is Juliet's true love, and they just haven't met each other in this timeline yet.

coward? REallly?

Yes. Widmore has accused him of being a coward. He was a deserter from the army. He broke up with Penny because he was scared he wouldn't be good enough to provide for her.

His character arch has clearly been one of a man fighting the image of a coward and becoming a hero.

I see his character arc being more of a time travelling renegade...

but thats just me.

This may be a stupid question, but, why is everyone saying that Sawyer has to meet Juliet in a coffee shop? Where did this come from?

And another stupid question. Just because an episode is Jacob/MIB-centric, why does this mean NO other characters will be shown? Or did I miss something? All the other so and so-centric episodes show other characters in them doing stuff.

Just watched the Constant. Holy Crap I don't think Lost will ever top this episode. I've been hearing about this one for along time and finally caught up to it. Simply Incredible. Best Acting and writing I've seen in any one episode.
