You must be reading something into my posts that I'm not intending.

Maybe because now you're skipping my posts. I'm not looking for any answers, at all.

Well, scratch that, I am looking for one:

quote:

Would the episode have lost any meaning without the wreckage shot at the end? Did it add anything?

What DID it end up doing (which they knew it would do)?

So what was the point of the wreckage?

I'll admit that. And I think Myth agrees.

Not to attack your logic, but if you are skipping Freaux's posts then how do you know he is just repeating himself?

And in truth, if you aren't annoyed with mine, then you shouldn't be annoyed with his.

I think he has been more tame than I was last night about page 66 when I started to get frustrated.

So I think you should probably stick me on the annoying list because our posts have been similar.

Yeah, I don't get the critique of me. I've been rather tame this entire thread. I think I went off when people started telling us we are wrong, I'll admit that.

Okay, just read this post by you, and it sums up what I'm saying:
quote:

SFP, Are you looking for a logical, scientific explanation here?

a logical explanation would suffice

they fricked up this show so badly there are none. only silly explanations that don't work with later things or just no explanations at all.

So you admit that, in your mind, there are ZERO explanations that would be sufficient to you.

Yet you still repeat your points over and over. And you're doing this for two reasons IMO. To be kind of a dick, and to try to make legit Lost fans look stupid. That much is more than obvious at this point (and I'm still not fully caught up yet).

How am I confused. The sideways stuff was all made up. It wasn't reality.

We have no idea if Nadia was or was not married to his brother as it was nothing more than a construct of their group conscious.

Methinks you are the one confused.

Maybe I am.

But admittedly at this point, my argument is more with SFP than you. My main thing with you was how many times you keep bringing up the same shite (like the wreckage).

Because I read about 20 pages of his posts, and they all said the same thing (a little hyperbole, sure...but the point is there).

Kate was HAWT

The finale was the second best Kate has looked during the whole season.

The hottest Kate looked was when she was in the grocery story and thought she had lost Aaron.

SFP is acting like a rape victim that can't stop reliving the rape.

He appears to hate the show, at least what it became (maybe date rape - the night started out good and then got real bad).

Instead of stating a few times he doesn't like the show and walk away to something that doesn't cause him pain, he constantly relives that bad scene.

Get over it. Move on. Or at least make some new points.

Freaux has said some things repeatedly. And I don't really agree with his views, but at least he says he likes the show and the finale. There are a few things that bug the shite out of him and probably hurt his overall feeling of the show. No big deal for him to keep discussing it.

I loved the show and finale. I wish I had more answers, but everything lived up to my expectations. I do side with Freaux on one theme - I wish this show was a season or two shorter and they could have tightened up a few things. I'm very forgiving on this, though, because I understand there are no time guarantees on a network show.

True story (heard on the radio so don't have a link)...ABC/Disney (and every other studios) did not believe in the concept of LOST the show, with the exception of the person actually running ABC programming. It appears he knew he was in trouble and gave the okay to do a $1.5M pilot without getting permission. At that point ABC had to at least see what they had. The rest is history.

That guy was fired before LOST ever hit the air. The voice that says, "Previously on LOST" is his voice. It was an inside joke FU from the show and him to ABC - I don't believe the studio was even aware of it.

Same guy also brought Desperate Housewives to ABC which got popular after he was fired. A lot of ABC's current success is due to him. He also pushed hard for Survivor, but ABC kept passing until CBS picked it up.

I'm paraphrasing from memory, so some details may be wrong. But the theme is correct.

Cokes

If someone keeps making points about the wreckage refuting his statements and mine, then of course we will respond to those statements.

It is called debating. A good debate doesn't end when you make your opening statement. There is back and forth point counterpoint to the issue.

It is not like he or I are just stamping our foot and saying the same thing over and over.

We are refuting points made by other posters.

It was A reality. Maybe not a physical reality but a reality.

Nadia died in the real world when she was hit by the car. We saw her funeral. She was dead. We know what happened to her. Sayid was always haunted by her but when she was alive and when she was dead.

In the side/purgatory reality she was married to someone else. Sayid learned to let her go and embrace Shannon.

Sayid learned to let Nadia go.
Jack learned to let his Daddy issues go.
Hurley learned to let his cursed belief go.
etc
etc
etc

I remember this. I actually did not watch the pilot or the first few weeks.

I remember reading an article about the show which mentioned the disdain the suits at ABC had for the concept. They were sure it would fail. Since I have disdain for the suits, I decided to watch and the rest is history.

I think we come off, like Cokes said earlier about me, that we are telling others they are wrong.

When, in all reality, it's them telling us we are wrong for simply saying their are other possibilities. And that those "other" possibilities were done in a manipulative fashion.

So the argument has been somewhat circular, but if I was repetitive so were others who constantly said, "It was a tribute," "It was jsut sentimental," blah blah blah while I was saying, "Why," "What about Aaron," "What if it was all Jack's purgatory," byada yada yada.

Normally lot runs the credits over the "scenes from next week" montage. Kind of hard to do that with the series finale. So the choice is either run them over a black screen (God, how people would bitch about it being like the Sopranos), or run them over some scene. What is the most iconic scene of Lost? The crash site.

This. What better than to show the first set from the pilot? Its better than just jumping in to "Next Sunday - ABCs new show "Scoundrels!"

Instead they chose an iconic piece of scenery/set, and let everyone take a breath and reflect.
