They didn't die during the crash...

I've got to digest this.

no

and they showed the crash at the end, just like the end of the south park episode where they save the whale

I can't say that this episode really explained much per se, but didn't Lapidus know the heading?

that was a Jacob rule.

Wait I saw a baby in the church.

Your telling me Arron had to go to purgatory as a baby/fetus?

So let me get this straight, the island and everything was real. Whenever a character died they when to the Alt-universe/purgatory, and stayed till everyone got together again.

yet ghosts in their image still did things like perform surgeries, do drugs, and deliver babies

This why Kate said she missed Jack when he showed up at the concert, cause she lived and took awhile to get to purgatory?

Correct. The island was real. They lived through it.

The island time line is definitely real life. Hurley and ben worked together until their deaths. Sawyer, Kate and all them got off the island on the plane, etc.

The ALT timeline is where you go after you die, death is timeless since you ALL get there at some point.

I'm down with this explanation.

the island was real... when you got off the island it was real... but when you died you went to the alternate timeline and had to find your way out of purgatory.

the plane loaded up the second time with a bunch of dead people. and they finally figured it out.

What do you mean no?

Christian said they spent the best parts of their lives together.

The alttimeline was a flash forward as freauxen said.

I guess they are letting it be interpreted either way.

But why would those people care about each other, if they never "lived" together on the island. Reading it like that doesn't make any sense.

Of course...

This could just be bad writing. Par for the course.

What shitty deal is it to go to purgatory as a GD baby

Wow...Island was definitely real...ALT timeline was like a purgatory they created themselves that they could all meet up at.

The plane crash side pan at the end made me wonder though...did Kate and them actually leave...or did they crash and burn.

Sorry.

Disappointed as hell.

Lots of good parts of the show. But the end. No. Didn't do it.

the whole, "when you die you end up in the emo-verse" doesn't make sense due to timelines

people who had already died should have been the first to "flash," according to this, and they weren't

also jack died before hurley or ben, yet jack was the last one to flash

After digesting, I can say I'm definitely happy with the ending.
