The island time line is definitely real life. Hurley and ben worked together until their deaths. Sawyer, Kate and all them got off the island on the plane, etc.
The ALT timeline is where you go after you die, death is timeless since you ALL get there at some point.
Guess that makes the island some place in real life that brings people together or something. Who knows.

So let me get this straight, the island and everything was real. Whenever a character died they when to the Alt-universe/purgatory, and stayed till everyone got together again. This why Kate said she missed Jack when he showed up at the concert, cause she lived and took awhile to get to purgatory?

shite was stupid. I hope Lindelof and that other a-hole never work in Hollywood again. This would have been a great miniseries.
