Ugh, more insufferable know-it-all teen girls in movies who condescendingly talk down to their father.
Worst part was when the rogue adopted daughter got herself stuck in the ice and as her dad was trying to save her, he was offering her some reassuring words, when she suddenly, she cuts him off and says, "Don't talk to me, dad."
And the backseat-driver mom got in on the talk-down-to-the-dumb-dad action, too: "You left our child alone?!" Yeah, bitch, the boy was safe and the dad was trying to save your ungrateful adopted daughter.
The Mary Sue adopted daughter is portrayed as braver than Will by jumping in the water, smarter than anyone in the family, offers more parental guidance to Will than his parents do, remotely dictates a surgical procedure that saves her mom. GMAFB.

I’ve been enjoying it but kept waiting for some backstory how the kids were all genetically enhanced geniuses but they never offered that up.
That said, this board continues to whine incessantly when something new doesn’t play out exactly like it does in their mind. Either accept the flaws or do us all a favor and shut the frick up

Through the fourth episode and I still like it. I can deal with the occasional SJW lines, and the teens are getting to be more tolerable, although Maureen remains insufferable. Parker Posey is doing a more than adequate job as Doctor Smith. Robot story line working well. Jupiter ships resemble slicked up Mellinnium Falcons. I’ll stay in for a while longer.

Is the cool theme music in it? If so, I'm in.

I liked the robot, Will and the dad. The end with Parker Posey looked interesting. I may watch another episode.

8th episode right now. I like it so far. It was kinda slow start but it’s getting better. Parker did good job at this.

I'm thinking we are going to learn more about why she felt that way in a flashback.
I'm an episode and a half in. So far it is pretty much the average run of the mill show Netflix has been content with putting out the past few years.
Its kept my attention this far though.

Is there or is there not a creepy old pedo who is the bad guy, but is also an anti-hero?
I used to watch this when I was really young. Good show.

Replaced by Parker Posey.

I like the reboot so far (on episode 4); not surprised by the racist swj assholes in this thread who melt about anything that's not last man standing... disregard them, they constantly get their panties in a wad.

There were some bumps and points for concern along the road but, taken as a whole, they did a fantastic job with this series.
The family dysfunction was painful to watch. I don't mean "painful" in an eye-rolling sarcastic manner. I mean it in that the TV Robinsons were the perfect 1950's family set in a 60's fantasy setting... and to see a version where the family is falling apart... it was difficult to watch.. I wanted Guy Williams and June Lockhart to show up and explain to this couple what it means to be a parent and to put your kids ahead of everything else.
After watching the entire nine hours you realize that this season was about taking a dysfunctional family and putting them through hell until they band together and become the legendary Robinsons. The payoffs come in the later episodes and it's worth the trip.
The character transformations are extremely well done. If you think that anyone is a Mary Sue or a stock villain, hang around through the later episodes. Those who think they know everything learn hard lessons. And some of the people that you despise might surprise you. Except for Dr. Smith. No matter what universe, Dr. Smith is always Dr. Smith.
To me, the effects were seamless. I'm fairly forgiving in this area, but I didn't see anything that jumped out as being poorly done. The Robot in particular was a joy to watch.
I'm sure that you can find SJW in the mix, if that what you enjoy railing about. But the women were as infuriatingly stupid as the men. You tend to wonder how any of these folks were picked to populate outer space. But then, the point seems to be for the audience to watch them all grow into their new responsibilities. And the whole deal with Judy being black... they don't force it down your throat. There's no big speech or very special episode. It's a minor point of casual conversation. As you'd expect in the real world.
As I said, it was hard to watch the early dysfunction. And the characters didn't share the same personality traits as the originals. The greed and humor of Dr. Smith is put on a different character, and it works. Will isn't the know-it-all bursting with confidence that was Bill Mumy, but the character builds his own momentum.
And the shoutouts and Easter eggs for the old fans are done so well and so subliminally, that it takes you a beat to realize that they're there. The obvious moments... the Robot speaking, the John Williams score... gave me chills.
I think that it'll do well with the general audiences. It's a bit brutal for very young kids, which is a departure from the original. But it's a great, solid fantasy series.

I don't want to read through the thread in case of spoilers. Is this worth watching?

Thanks. I've got to finish Altered Carbon at some point and this was next on the list.

Ya'll do realize that those guys were just yanking your chains, don't you? I mean the one guy was so tongue in check that he might as well have the mumps.
Getting to the show - I'm only one episode in. I enjoyed the first one alright and I'll keep watching. The world building is getting off to a good start and they are at least trying to build some interesting dynamics among the family.
On the minus side, the acting could be better. In particular, the kid who plays Will Robinson wasn't that great, at least in this episode.
Plus, the character himself was pretty weak - kind of like another Carl from Walking Dead if, in addition to wandering off when he wasn't supposed to, Carl had whined and sniffled pretty much all the time.
Plus, I hope they don't keep up with the "put them in an impossible situation and about to die and pull out the deus ex machina at the last minute" tropes.
I like the situation with the robot (except I hope he isn't always a deus ex machina) and the little they showed of Parker Posey as Dr. Smith (along with the two mechanics) shows promise.

On Episode 4. It is decent, but the story is moving so slow. This is where a lot of shows lose me when they meander and try to stretch it out.

Story picks up about halfway through the season and the characters really start to grow and develop. On episode 8 and it feels like it's going to end strong.

Alright. Finished the season.
frick the haters. This show is good. The ending episode was fantastic. The character arcs all played out well and we have a cast full of great possibilities now. I hope it keeps going because this is just getting really fun and interesting.
