no, Desmond "gets it" - Penny is his constant, he's met her in both timelines now.
I think he sees more clearly than anyone, even Widmore or MIB at this point

What an amazing episode. I don't even know where to start right now....so I'm not going to.

Some TV exec should just go ahead and greenlight a Quantum Leap remake starring Henry Ian Cusick.

True, I'm just confused to hell as to what this all means in terms of MIB getting off the island. It seems Desmond is the key; something about containing so much energy as to actually contain a force. He seems to possess this energy and will eventually be sacrificed to contain MIB.
These merging of timelines and how it all fits together is just confusing. Wish I had doctorate in physics just to comprehend half this shite.

Key points:
-Charlie has a death wish because he's already dead.
I loved that twist.
quote:She certainly did.
-Eloise is the only person who knows the full spectrum of things.
quote:Could he have been playing dumb? Eloise sure seemed to want to play dumb until she caught on that he was looking for Penny.
-Widmore knows it on the island-side, not so much on the alt side. -
quote:Nice catch.
-The hospital is a key focal point. Kate, Claire, Sayid, Charlie, Desmond, Jack...more to come I'm sure

I'm just overwhelmed.....wow, simply amazing

Why wouldn't Eloise want Desmond to find Penny in the other timeline?
In the island timeline, it makes sense for Des to sacrifice himself for Penny and his son since he seems to be the only one capable of containing MIB.
Obviously the theme of love is a very powerful thing in lost that was made more evident tonight. Everyone on the island is accounted for in terms of having someone to love..,,which leads to the most important island couple - Adam and Eve.

Sun has just been shot in this timeline as well, right? That would make it just about time for her and Jin to come rolling on into the hospital ER...

Don't hold me to this because I haven't gone back and re-watched it yet, but I think she said "He's not ready yet".... I took that to mean that Farraday needed to talk to him first to set him in his ways.

Second, I think that was a super revealing conversation between Desmond and Eloise at the benefit. Apparently, Eloise (and probably Widmore) know about both timelines and are trying to prevent or delay everyone else from discovering them.
I thought the best line of the episode was when she said "It's about time." Holy shite, that's some fantastic writing.
Like someone said earlier, love is a pretty powerful theme on this show, and I think it might somehow turn out to be "stronger" than destiny/whatever happened, happened. I think Desmond and Penny are definitely Adam and Eve(that picture confirmed it to me), and that they will somehow find a way to be together "forever" despite Eloise/Whidmore/fate conspiring against them. Free will reigns. If "whatever happened, happened," what's the fricking point?
With only 6 episodes left, I am somewhat concerned that they are getting a little too involved with complicated quantum physics. I just hope they keep the explanations as simple as possible considering the subject. Like that Sean B dude mentioned infinite parallel universes. While I understand that is a pretty prevalent theory in that field, I don't think it makes sense to go there in LOST so late in the game.

I didn't watch the episode last night yet, so I'm not gonna read this thread yet. I just wanna know if it's a great episode or not, since Desmond ones usually are..?

Also, any guesses to who Penny's mother is? Carole Littleton and Penny look similar

She's far to young to be Penny's mother. She would have to give birth to her when she was like 13.
Plus this would be going to Heroes standards of everyone being related. It would be retarded.

So if the timelines are destined to "re-converge" as some have speculated - Which timeline is the correct one? There are things which seem "right" and "wrong" in both of them...
Is Charlie supposed to be dead? Locke?
Are Sun and Jin supposed to be childless?
Is Sawyer the cop or the criminal?
Thoughts?
