the thing is... it wasn't an accident they were there... darlton doesn't make accidents like that... everything has a place and a reason..

the rocks are just within view but are not the focal point of the shot...

desmond is lying down next to a red wall.

you notice the wall because of the colors and desmond is in the foreground, so your eyes are never drawn to the rocks.

First and foremost, who the hell rates these episodes? That was fricking fantastic.

Second, I think that was a super revealing conversation between Desmond and Eloise at the benefit. Apparently, Eloise (and probably Widmore) know about both timelines and are trying to prevent or delay everyone else from discovering them.

its been obvious that eloise and widmore have had some plan for the past two seasons... we are just now realizing that plan.

Nothing compared to the first flash of Charlie's hand from "Through the Looking Glass," and Desmond's reaction.

I knew Faraday was coming, it was fairly obvious. But, when Charlie put his hand on the glass and Desmond remembered that from the alt timeline, I definitely got goose bumps.

Also when Faraday and Desmond had their conversation. I was waiting for the notebook to say "Desmond Hume is my constant".

Same here. I was slightly disappointed when it didn't show that.

The first half of that episode was meh, but the second half was fantastic.

Also I now want to go back and watch the freighter scenes with George to see what he is saying while he is "flashing". I wonder if some of that dialogue would match what was said tonight...

Also can someone help me with the timeline on Desmond getting to the island? How long before Widmore took him was he shot by Linus? They made it seem like it was 3 days before that or something. I'm confused with that.

The best episode focuses only on a single character. Juggling characters is something LOST has always been very good at doing, and they won't show a character just because they think they are obligated to. Characters will go missing for like 7 episodes, and then they'll return to their arc when they need to. Thank god its not like Heroes where they'll put 5 stories into a single episode.

Well the past 15 or so episodes have taken place within a few days time span.

I wondered the same thing. He acted like it was just the other day. Maybe the last few epsiodes have literally only progressed a few days even though a lot has happened.

8 days have passed on the Island since Ben shot Desmond.

What is all this about Desmond having to make the ultimate sacrifice?

holy frickballs, just finished - amazing, fricking amazing episode

there's so much to digest, I'll need to watch that one at least 4 more times before I can really discuss it, although there are a couple of you who already have it wrong.

Key points:
-Charlie has a death wish because he's already dead.
-Eloise is the only person who knows the full spectrum of things.
-Widmore knows it on the island-side, not so much on the alt side. -
-The hospital is a key focal point. Kate, Claire, Sayid, Charlie, Desmond, Jack...more to come I'm sure
-now we know in LA X where Desmond disappeared to off the plane
-that whole "we're not supposed to be here" line from Daniel was so prophetic

I'm just overwhelmed.....wow, simply amazing

I cant wait till the show ends so I can take a week's vacation and watch them all in a row again

Just finished watching the episode and haven't read through the thread yet but it seems to me they're playing capture the Flag with Desmond. He's kind of like a willing participant. Just going with whoever has him at the moment.
