I'm rewatching the episode now, and I saw something that may seem trivial to some, but it looks to be very essential for me: Dr. Chang has both hands in tact. We saw at the end of the Incident what happened to one of them. This could be hinting at the bomb didn't cause the split.
Or the fact that he wouldn't be alive if a hydrogen bomb went off. Dr. Chang existed in his correct timeline.

but he's definitely not that wild cry baby running around the island trying to fix everything in his own uniquely retarded way.

I'm not sure why people are worried if Desmond is alright, you can clearly see him looking up from the bottom of the well on the previews for the next episode.

bout how "love conquers all" because of the Penny/Desmond thing and now we've got the Hurley/Libby love playing out. It's pretty clear how the writers feel about love. I wonder who the next love story will be about? Kate and Sawyer would be my guess. I think Jack is going to have to end up alone. "He walks among us, but he is not one of us."
No way.
I'd bet good money that we see Sawyer and Juliette drinking coffee in the next couple of episodes. No way her character is done with the show.

Son of a bitch, I was looking through a list of remaining episodes and there is a week break in between the next two episodes.
ETA: May 23, excuse me

Is there any canonical evidence that the bomb actually split things?
Faraday said it in Happily Ever After.

He said that he thinks he already set of the bomb.
Which isn't true because he was dead when it happened.

actually, I think he's the most dangerous dipshit of them all. He's got everything figured out 95% of the way

The scene where he said that to Desmond was one of the most powerful of the show. It would be illogical and a waste to think that Faraday just randomly dreamed that he caused a time-split after learning quantum-physics over night.

No he doesn't. He says that a nuclear bomb could cause a time split and he is worried that he set one off. There is no proof yet the incident caused the split.

Agreed. Sawyer and Kate aren't soul mates. Even though it is the worst episode so far this season, "What Kate Does" pretty much kills the love triangle. And only 4 days have passed since Juliet's death, to where it would be insulting if Sawyer went after Kate. Sawyer and Juliet are soul mates, and when they meet for coffee that will trigger Sawyer's memory.

I don't believe Chang's hand was completely chopped off in The Incident, right? Wasn't it just all bloody as shite?
If we're going simplest explanation, he could have had it repaired in the alternate timeline. In the original timeline maybe the surgery just didn't go right.

you were suggesting Farraday was proof that the incident caused the split. All we have is Farraday hypothesizing that it would cause a split.

These loves angles are trigging memories...Flocke/Locke/MIB is evil! So the car crash by Desmond at the end of this episode will trigger his island memory. book it!

Why would the writers put this in there if it weren't true?
It would be a completely unnecessary bait and switch.

Just checked imdb. The boy in tonights show was Kenton duty. He is the same boy in the substitute in the jungle
