It's a TRAILER. You (should) know how much they flip things around in them; most of the dialogue is pulled out of context and from different parts of the show.
And as I recall, yesterday you were even fixating on the words to the Evanescence song playing in the background. Have you heard the soundtrack- it's not going to have pop rock tunes in it. That's called 'marketing', to get the cool kids interested in it.
Side note- earlier you said something to the effect of "at least you can tell the plot from the trailers"... please tell me you're not one of those guys who likes revealing trailers. I fricking hate that shite, just give me a tease of some action, some scenery, and hint what genre it is (spy thriller, comedy, etc). Don't put a cliff notes version of the movie/show up.
Amazon seems confident they have something here. I'm not a huge Comicon guy, but what I saw of the coverage there was big; like Star Wars/MCU level big. Not 'random tv show' stuff. And then, the Cinemark early viewing...
I get the sense this is going to blow people away, at least visually. Like it or not, I think a premium series format is better than a 2 hr movie for lots of stories, and that may be the way we're headed.
Star Wars, MCU, etc- I think we see the majority go that way, and only the really big climaxes will be in the theaters now.

I try to wait and see something, before I panic or judge it.

Top Gun: Maverick...
I loved the original, it was beloved from a different era (80's), and an important time in my life (my freshman year at LSU). I didn't want that trashed.
I generally don't like the revolving remake/rehash movies, I would prefer original tales.
Society is way different, Top Gun came out when Ronnie was the prez, and everyone was happy (and patriotic). Now, everyone is miserable, and everyone hates the country we live in. One side hates what we "were", and the other hates what we're "becoming"; and nobody likes it currently.
Tom Cruise is a good actor, but is clearly "odd", and at times I think is flat insane. I had no idea what his vision was going to be, whether he would crap on American military imperialism this time around, etc.
There was a very good chance this would be as bad or worse than the Ghostbusters remake with the chicks, which would have made me disgusted as hell. And honestly, I sort of expected it to be that way.
Instead, it's fricking AWESOME. That's just one reason why I won't prejudge this, and keep my fingers crossed.

You say the "we as LOTR fans" like you speak for all LOTR fans. There are millions of LOTR fans and a large portion of them are looking forward to this show. Including someone like GOP who is more of a fan than %99.99999 of the population. How you can't recognize that I don't know. Regardless of it being woke, people are still looking forward to it. I'm confident you've never even read LOTR, much less The Silmarillion. No person that has ever read the books or is a fan of Tolkiens work would say that some Amazon show ruined his work. Hell this show can't even ruin Peter Jacksons work much less Tolkien. But after OM corrected you you edited your post because you have to keep up with your masters thinking.

Have any of you watched Star Trek? Either TOS or TNG? Both of those shows were incredibly woke for their times. There were pro-abortion and pro-LGBT episodes and constant liberal messages. And yet, there are probably some people here trashing ROP who are Trek fans.
This place is full of a bunch of miserable losers who would have nothing in life if they couldn't hate on everything.
