Part of it is that we waited a 2 decades to see a Wolverine movie the way a Wolverine movie should be

The thing I really like about this movie is that it does not hide the fact that Logan is a straight up cold killer and he has no qualms about killing people if its necessary and doesn't do anything to avoid it like Superman, Spiderman and Captain America does.

The previous X-Men films at best glossed over that fact, in reality the straight up ignored it and did everything they could to hide it.

Got out a bit ago.

Great film I thought.

Only issue I had was the blatant 'we aren't racist' casting choices. Also pretty clear the reboot is going to be an X-men of every race with the one white person being an alligator looking idiot.

Inclusion has pretty much always been the message of X-men since the very beginning of the comics.

But that was always poisoning him. His healing factor never let it affect him.

Why is Deadpool obviously a no go if you're okay with graphic violence and language? That doesn't make sense.

Ummm, maybe because of the 10 minute segment about fricking his girlfriend for every holiday, proposed with an engagement ring pop the was stuck up his arse, masturbated to a stuffed unicorn with his baby hand and went looking for his gf in a strip club. None of which was violent, but all of which was inappropriate for a 10 year old. Does it make sense now?

So your main problem was not enough white people?

What a great movie. It might be the best super hero film, but it really transcends that genre the same way that the Dark Knight trilogy did. I only have a few complaints. I'm not sure 2029 is far enough in the future. 2039 might have been more believable given the state of the world in Logan compared to the end of Days of Future Past. Secondly, I didn't much like the ending. Logan just kind of died and the movie ended. We don't get to see what happens to the kids across the border in Canada or even if there was anything waiting for them at all.

Thirdly, am I the only one who thought old man Logan looks just like modern day Mel Gibson? He doesn't look old per say. He just looks very different.

so will there be another x-men movie that will show every one of them die except Wolvey and X? Are we goign to have to have X-men movies that stay in the past now?

It was alluded to in Apocalypse. He murdered the entire facility.

Did wolverine just start losing his healing factor with age, or did something help with that?
Pretty much age and the power itself being overworked. I liken it to a Honey Badger. In the wild they live for only 6-8 years in the wild because they are constantly getting stung by bees and bitten by snakes. In captivity they live for 24 years or so because their immune system doesn't have to constantly strain itself fighting of venom.

I think that is what they are going for. The next X-Men film is rumored to be set in the 1990s. I imagine they will stay in that decade for awhile (you can't get too much closer to modern day) with the main franchise.

Deadpool will be set in the current day and will sort of tie in with X-Men. I would not doubt that Fox releases a new franchise set in the future with some of the kids as adults.

The three main characters and the villains were all white.

Are you sure that you didn't watch Moonlight by mistake?

I don't think that FOX is married to any X-Men timeline. They'll keep bringing back the most popular characters.

Hell, they just fricked up Singer's Days of Future Past happy ending with this Logan movie. They just want good plots and characters that get people into the theaters.

My only complaint right now is that I thought Pierce's death was kind of lame.

A lot can happen in 5 years (Days of Future Past ends in 2024, Logan takes place in 2029).

As far as Wolverine's healing factor burning out, he is almost 230 years old at this point (born in 1804?)

Yeah but it seems to be quite quick to start burning out. Why now? Is it just old age? 200 years old is old for him?

They didn't leave enough room between when DoFP ends and Logan begins.

Logan should have taken place at least 20-30 years post DoFTP. I didn't realize DoFP took place in 2024. I thought the "present day" timeline was whatever year the movie came out (2014?).

Yeah, in just a couple of years the Xavier School is gone, the mutants have been hunted to near extinction, and Xavier is a mental invalid.

I guess that Kitty got killed off quickly, so they couldn't use her to send Logan back in time for another reset.
