re: Live Action Little Mermaid - Ariel has been Cast

I am not even kidding when i say that i read a comment by a black woman who explained that her grandfather was a fisherman and he had seen REAL mermaids and they are black.

She says that for centuries whiteys stole their culture by pretending mermaids were white when in fact mermaids are really black.After all, pawpaw SAW them in the wild.

Hard to even argue with someone this incredibly stupid.

I’m not middle aged or white. This is a message board. Every single thing we discuss here is pointless. And this is being a Disney movie doesn’t make it less pointless then arguing about GoT, James Bond, LOST, etc. because it’s all fictional entertainment in the end.

but your analogy is dog shite. Disney's animated version was a loose adaptation from the original story. Of course there are going to be huge differences. The movie coming out in the future is a live action remake of the animated version and it's reasonable for people to be concerned that characters will look completely different.

I would prefer Ariel be like the original animation but I’m not saying everyone should be annoyed about the new version. I just wanted to know why people like RC refuse to be consistent in their views.

But why is it more pathetic compared to arguing about sports or GoT? It would be pathetic if someone was putting a lot of effort in trying to break apart the story of a kids movie. But it’s not that. It’s about the casting, and how some people aren’t consistent in their views. Neither GoT nor this movie have any impact on you nor will change anything.

Is this your first time on a message board? Whining, bitching, discussion, etc about topics of interest is kind of the point. No one is forcing you to be here.
