Definitely better today, but still doesn’t even crack my top 5. Almost sounded a little too enthusiastic and the rhythm just isn’t quite there yet. But, since he got better, I’m willing to give him a few more chances to see if he improves over the course of two weeks.

I thought Levar did great today. I enjoyed his enthusiasm.

I also liked Blossum and Buzzy. I don't know what y'all see in Mike Richards but I didn't care for him at all. I hope y'all are wrong about the fix being in for him.

Missed LeVar's debut yesterday, but thought he was pretty good today. I'm sure it takes some adjustment to the rhythm and flow of the show.

Mike Richards is the best choice. He’s a natural, knows the flow and rules of the game. I don’t see him giving up his position of Executive Producer of Jeopardy and Wheel though.

While I don't know for certain, something tells me that being the Jeopardy host pays exponentially more than being the EP for both Jeopardy and Wheel.

To me, those two are just WAY ahead of everyone else. And, I had never heard of Mike Richards and I couldn't stand Buzzy Cohen as a contestant.

I also thought he acted too enthuastic. The way he loudly said "YES" whenever a contestant got the correct answer came across to me like he was talking to children. Everyone other guest host did better.

As far as rankings, I’d probably put him in the 5-10 range, leaning more towards the 10. He wasn’t nearly as bad as Katie Couric, Savannah Guthrie, or Anderson Cooper.

To me, his enthusiasm just seems forced.

Will PBS ever bring back Reading Rainbow?

Thought so.

Yeah, I love the guy but this was him 5 years ago… not sure if he’s in any shape to host a show.

Finding Lavar annoying with his overly enthusiastic YES comment. And he slows the game way down. He is a hard pass for me.

I’d like to see Mike Rowe get a shot.

I know George Stephanopoulos said on GMA that the good thing about it being recorded is that they can redo something if they mess up.
It looks like hosting this show doesn't come naturally to Levar and it shows. I bet Levar had to redo way more takes thank anyone else (just speculating) and I'm hoping he doesn't host again!!

I love Lavar Burton from TNG and Reading Rainbow and Roots, but the one episode I saw (I think it was his 2nd or 3rd day), I did not think he did well. I just didn't think he provided a clear, easily followable, authoritative voice which is needed for this spot.

Opinions do differ, though. MSNB says he should be the permanent host: MSNBC - Pick Lavar article
