Even someone who loved the first two movies should agree that 1 was significantly better than 2

If the Batman series hadn't been so great people would point to Iron Man as being one of the better comic book movies of all time

Loved the reboot. It was fricking awesome. God I hope they redo venom. The let down in Spiderman 3 was ridiculous.

I liked the first a lot. The second was good for entertainment, but felt a little was "missing".

I'll probably go to see 3 because the bad guy looks cool. I am OTOH not excited about seeing so many iron man suits. How is stark supposed to stand out now?

What, I didn't hate them. I thought the first was great until he returned back to LA, but then it went downhill. Second one I thought was just mediocre to the last degree.

So now everyone hates Iron Man? I thought Iron Man was one of the more highly regarded comic book movies on this board?

I swear, I can never keep up with what movies we are supposed to hate around here.

Iron Man was a great comic book movie.

Iron Man 2 was very disappointing.

ETA: I just don't see how much farther they can go with Iron Man. Add more Iron Men robots/Patriot? More Avenger tie-ins? Are we supposed to be surprised when the Mandarin attacks Tony Stark at his home address when the entire world knows who he is and where he lives?

The Iron Man franchise has done well and the movie will no doubt bring in over 500mil; but I'm looking forward to Man of Steel much more.

I have never seen the promotion machine spoil a Marvel film just as much as Iron Man 3. I am excited to see it, but damn they have revealed enough of this movie already.

I don't hate it, but I have never supported it on here, ever. I like movies with some semblance of a plot, and Iron Man lost that as soon as he escaped from the desert. Don't even get me started on Iron Man 2,

I will go see 3 just because it looks fun

Well I don't know how it will end, although there are several things we didn't need to see in the trailers or TV spots.

*Pepper wearing the suit
*The army of suits that come to save Tony (which appears to be near the end of the film)
*Tony being assaulted by the suit (dream sequence or not)
*The destruction of suits in Tony's Garage. When clearly we already know that they will be making a return or Tony already had more somewhere else.

I know that a trailer needs to hype the audience up, but damn, sometimes the movie going audience would like to wowed by something in the theater. I don't really believe there will be a sequence in this film that is more exciting than what we have seen already.

Those are all minor plot fillers IMO. What we still don't know...
-How the Extremis nanovirus will come in to play.
-What direction are they going with Mandarin? And his connection to Aldrich Killian.
-Will his rings play a part with the Infinity Gauntlet?
-Why does he have Captain America's shield tattooed on his neck?

Still a lot of story to tell.

I had a lot of issues with believing a lot of the plot points in iron man 2 could occur. And that's saying a lot considering this is the same universe with a flying battleship

I doubt his rings have anything to do with the Gauntlet, I don't expect for the Mandarin role to be anything other than "the villain for this film", I don't see him as a staple of the ongoing Marvel franchise.

Agreed. He's more of a personal Tony Stark enemy, and this movie is supposed to be about a personal struggle Stark has to work through without the Avengers help.

He may be around for this film only but don't discredit his impact on the Universe just yet.
