Thought of another one that's a guilty pleasure of mine:
An Arizona surfer, laughed at by the veteran boarders in Hawaii, finds a mentor - and a girlfriend - and prepares to ride the giant waves of Oahu.
I've never surfed, but dammit I love this silly movie. It came out in 1987. I was working that summer for BREC running Hooper Rd. Park. It was the perfect summer job. Hang out with the other camp counselors, playing sports with the kids all day. Movies, swimming twice a week, skating rink every Thursday.
I watched this movie with one of the other counselors and we schemed for a good two weeks on how we could raise enough money to learn to surf and go to Hawaii.
Of course it never happened, but it was an awesome summer and this movie always reminds me of that.

Linda Blair’s deaf sister gets raped at school, she hunts them down and kills them.
Good 80’s high school gang flick, costarring a young Michael J. Fox.
Single mom and her two boys, youngest being Corey Haim, welcome her new boyfriend into the home only to find out he’s a raging cokehead dickwad.
