I mean couldn’t the originals say let’s forget about the men cause their ghostbusters didn’t recognize the original ghostbusters.

I just rad through some of the comments and there are a number of women that are defending the 2016 Ghostbusters not because it was a good movie or funny, but because women starred in it. I mean this is exactly the reason women get overlooked for things, a complete failure of logic and reason. How often do you hear men praising something because, derp, men were in it? Never. Ladies, you better get this whole thing figured out because that kind of talk just makes y'all look really stupid and unreasonable.

it doesn't take logic or reason to play the victim and that is the root of the problem with these type of movements. The movement simply depends on someone playing a victim and rolling around crying about it.
The sad part of all of this is that I truly wanted the reboot to fail but I never thought it could be nearly as bad as it was.

She can be in Black Panther 2 instead. She can be an MTA worker whose knowledge of the subways can come in handy. Or she can be in Spiderman Into the Spiderverse 2 and be Black Cat.

would be nice if no talents who are obviously filling a couple of quotas would just shut up and accept their good fortune

They can't help themselves at this point. Trump has broken them, and he haunts their dreams.

She immediately brings Trump into this movie diatribe which is being led by Akroyd? Hollywood really has TDS.
Obviously trying to draw up an angry twitter mob and some blue check knights.

You want undeniable proof that BlackFem Privilege is a real thing? Look no further than Leslie Jones: The fact this ugly azz, angry, unintelligent slag made more that $12 last year "entertaining" folks is all you need to know about the virtue-signaling, affirmative action culture we live in.

That version sucked. Sorry bout it.

Most of us Ghostbusters fans were not upset about it being a female cast, we were upset that it was a reboot that completely ignored the story and timeline that was already there.
Not me. I hated that it was all female. And not because they were females, but because they just took a franchise like that and shoehorned women into it and expected to forcefeed it to the public with no backlash. It's not like they put any sort of thought or creativity into it...they just tried to rehash a popular franchise and use women.
Now, I haven't seen the movie, but based on what I have heard and seen (via clips or trailers), it looks awful and has very few redeeming qualities about it.
Now, to show that something like this could work if done properly, let's take a look at something like Ocean's 8. That is literally the same thing happening here. Remake/continuation of an old popular franchise (which was a remake in itself), with women shoehorned into it. Now, I've never seen it either, but the trailer looked pretty decent though, and from what I've heard it isn't too bad of a movie. And it made BANK at the box office. And my assumption is because there was a lot more effort put into it to actually make it good rather than what was done with Ghostbusters.
There is a difference, Leslie Jones. Learn what that difference is and maybe you can direct your anger at the proper sources. And I don't have much of an opinion on Trump one way or another, but her bringing him into this makes her lose all credibility at that point (if she had any to begin with). How stupid of her. But I guess the people she is preaching to would eat that kind of comment up.

That's fair. It also has to do with the fact that, when Feig was hired, he said he didnt know how to make a sequel but that he knew how to make a movie with hilarious women. Meaning he had no intentions of doing a proper Ghostbusters, he was just determined to do it with a female cast. What really started triggering the sexist accusations were when people called it "Lady Ghostbusters" and people flipped their shite and called us all sexist misogynistic pigs blag blah blah.

It's not a horrible movie. By itself, it's an ok movie. But it is far from great and doesn't stand up to the original.

But it also took place in the same timeline and didnt ignore what happened before. And Oceans 8 was actually a good movie. I enjoyed it very much. The stupid thing I've heard about Oceans 8 and GB was that the women were more attractive and that's why it did better. It also had half the budget of GB2016 and made more than it too.

Leslie Jones had legitimate complaints about how she was treated before the film released. People were awful to her. Racist comments and anything else you could imagine. This however is a totally different situation in that SHE is bringing the criticism on herself by trying to make it in to something that it's not.

And, again, its not her fault it failed. That falls mostly on the writing and directing. Which is where her anger needs to be directed. Not at Sony, Reitman, Aykroyd, or the fans.
It's partially her fault. She didn't appear in the movie with no prior history. People knew her from her SNL performances - an unfunny, talentless hack. Her mere presence helped to partially doom the project from the get-go.

Well Feig is the one that cast her which is why I pin more blame on him. I wouldnt have turned down the role if I had been in her shoes.
