The irony is this was one of the big issues with her reboot. It didn't take the smart road and acknowledge/pay homage to the original.
They went for the more controversial route of not acknowledging the original and it backfired. Now she's mad the original controllers of the property want to do the same basic thing her version did.

Amy Pascal at Sony was looking at legal options against Murray if he didnt play along basically.

Look, I will defend Jones from the people that were flat out awful to her before that film ever released. She was straight up treated like shite between racist comments and sexist comments. I will never defend those actions towards a person.
Most of us Ghostbusters fans were not upset about it being a female cast, we were upset that it was a reboot that completely ignored the story and timeline that was already there.
I'm not saying there weren't people that were mad it was all women, because there were and still are. I also dont hold her responsible for how GB2016 turned out. She is just an actress. She did not write or direct it, which is where the biggest issues were.
She is allowed to be upset. I dont blame her for being mad or hurt. But she needs to direct her anger towards the ones responsible: Paul Feig and the writers. And she needs to stop making it in to a gender issue, because this is just about making a sequel to the original timeline. Not saying women cant do the same job as men.

But what is she upset about? Her movie didn’t make any money and it was a load of shite that they couldn’t give away. Is she going to put her own money up on the line to produce a sequel to a shite movie.

I mean I'd be upset if I were in her shoes. There were talks of a sequel to it before it released and then they dropped it. I dont have an issue with her being upset. I have an issue with the reasons she believes it's happening. Her anger is completely misplaced.

let me put it this way. movies anywhere gave me 4 free movies of their choosing for linking my accounts
one of those was Ghostbusters...her Ghostbusters. I linked my accounts in 2017. I dont think it was even a full calendar year since the theatrical release and her movie was already being given away for free.
