Correct. Rudy took the drooler's spot in the fake hospital in the astral plane. He took that spot because he was dying in the real world at the time.

I'd say that familiarity with the comic characters would help, but my wife forbade me from telling her anything about David, his powers, the Shadow King, etc... and she still enjoys the show 100%.

Even if you think you know what's going on, this show takes so many quick turns you're usually an episode behind really understanding most of it.

The last episode did a great job of really explaining what is going on.

For those that are a few eps in and lost, just know that most everything comes together.

Great show that keeps getting better.

Decent ending to set up next season.

Post credits scene was bizarre though.

The transition into "Breath" was fantastic. Writer must be a big Floyd fan.

Found the ending kinda convenient. End of credits was unexpected.

Great show. Maybe we see Aubrey and Jemaine in future seasons.

The music has been top notch this season. Great use of Floyd tonight

That might have been the weakest episode of the season. It set up season 2 nicely but I think the trippy ride might be over :(

Couldn't agree more. Looked forward to every single Wednesday night during the course of the season and was left dissatisfied after tonight's episode.

Not sure what I expected, and can't really say what I was displeased with, but something just wasn't there.

Maybe I expected more of a fight between David and the Shadow King.

I was worried about what would happen when David got "well". The filter that his crazy put on the show is what made it so different. I don't think it will be normal now, but it probably won't be the same.

Yes it was strange how conventional the narrative and imagery was in that episode. Disappointing for the season finale to be the first episode I didn't really care for. I hope they can recapture what made it so great until this point. David probably has to be crazy for this show to continue to be good.

I think that was the only thing that was a letdown, but at the same time he's not done battling him, and him being in a far less powerful individual provides a larger threat. If you take away the lack of that big fight, it was still a great episode, just that facet kind of brought it down some

Also, the thought of Clement and Plaza working together is very exciting

He is still schizophrenic. He said so himself.

Is he? We know he heard the shadow king, the only other "voices" in his head we've heard have been indistinct group chatter, like a telepath that doesn't know how to control his ability listening to thoughts of everyone near him.

I don't recall him saying he was still crazy, just that he couldn't risk thinking he was cured because if he's wrong he gets lost down the schizophrenic rabbit hole.

Yes, seeing those 2 starting a road trip together got me excited about season 2.

last night's ending was a bit of a dud, but it was a great first season overall.

I did see the clip after the credits rolled.

I feel like the actress who played Lenny did a good job expressing the range of emotions and body language of the shadow king. that couldn't of been an easy role

When he was trapped in the coffin in the Astral Plane, he split off his rational self and had that extended conversation and classroom scene where he mapped out the entire prologue to the season.

I took that to be one of his split personalities.

You know, going into this year I never expected Aubrey Plaza to land a spot in the best creepy villain category. It is like if the final episode of Parks and Rec had revealed April was a serial killer throughout the series.
