2021 with 170k miles on it. Transmission went out at 120k miles, that really sucked, being only 20k miles over power train warranty. Other than that no major issues.

Sorry. Should have been much more clear. I meant that private school teachers aren’t teaching to LEAP bc it’s worthless and not necessary for private. That’s why voucher kids may not perform well on that standardized test. They may also not have the foundation needed for a more academically focused school.
Yeah we’re on the same page.

I agree LEAP is worthless…but, I mean, I see it in my kids, they are def teaching to LEAP. The amount of LEAP prep is insane, and once LEAP is over, ha, the rest of the year is just parties and movies.
Idk, maybe you’re a teacher? And if you are and you’re challenging the status quo on that, then awesome. But that’s not been my experience so far.
Edited to add, maybe you’re saying private school teachers aren’t teaching to LEAP, and yes, you’d be 100% correct bc private schools don’t do LEAP (except for voucher kids).

As I understand it, and may be wrong, is that only the voucher kids at the private schools are required to take the state tests. Not the rest of the non-voucher kids. So the teachers at these private schools are not focusing on LEAP prep.
Anyone who has kids in the public system knows that the teachers of grades that are taking LEAP are teaching to the test. It’s nearly their singular focus…get better LEAP scores.
I’m sure that has something to do with the “underperforming” private schools in the article. I’m sure there’s many other factors as well.

21 Silverado with 3.0 babymax…engine has been great. 131k miles on it now. Been back to the shop several times for emission issues.
Oh yeah…transmission went out at 120k miles. So that sucked.

Been there done that. Headed west bound a couple years ago and there was a wreck on the bridge in the east bound lane. Car went under a semi. Huge fire. Traffic stopped and after waiting an hour-ish they backed us all down the bridge.
Sucked.

2021 Silverado 1500 duramax…120k miles and the transmission needs to be replaced/rebuilt.
Seriously considering a tundra.

Have a trash panda and a half Nelson. Love them both. I use them on 6.5G and .260 REM.
Going to do a form 4 tomorrow on a Huxwrx flow 5.56K…hoping for a fast turnaround. Form 3 took about a week.

re: Experience with the "Decked" truck bed storage system?
Posted by Geauxtac260 on 2/29/24 at 6:24 pm to swampthing
I’ve had mine in for the last couple of months, along with a bed cap.
Overall, I like it. But, one thing I really HATE and didn’t think about till the first time I had to do it…loading heavy stuff, like ice chests, totes, tool boxes, etc, now have to go up that much further to be in the truck. And getting them onto the tailgate is fine, but then it’s just an awkward lift to go from the tailgate up to the top of the deck.

Haha ok noted…river silt is NOT the way.
I’ve been fighting crabgrass as long as I can remember, and I’m tired of missing my pre-emergent window and then fighting this stuff all summer. Every summer it’s the same story…backyard turns to a weed jungle and God forbid I miss a week on cutting it!
I like the idea of bermuda bc I can spray for other weeds (crabgrass!) and keep my lawn.
Add on the two dogs, and now the boys playing baseball all summer, I just think this will be better for me.
Is the Pennington bermuda seed at Home Depot crap?

Do you NOT recommend bermuda? I have a terrible centipede yard that I’m also strongly considering transitioning to bermuda. Reasons why I shouldn’t?
Also, what’s everyone using for top dressing? Lady at Cleggs is telling me river silt.
re: 13” 308 MCX SPEAR??
Posted by Geauxtac260 on 2/21/24 at 5:56 pm to NOLAGT
This whole thought process started by wanted to have another option when it come to commonly available calibers if/when we experience another ammo shortage.
I want to add 308 to the mix, but have no desire to lug around a long barreled rifle, plus suppressor. This would be 100% suppressed, so I’m definitely taking the added length vs sound reduction into consideration.
If 13” would get me to 600yrds I think I’d be fine with it. But even at 13” plus the length with a 5” can and I’d still be at 18” overall…

13” 308 MCX SPEAR??
Posted by Geauxtac260 on 2/20/24 at 5:54 pm
Thoughts on this caliber/barrel length combo?
Lots of questions/debates over the SPEAR itself, but I’m mostly curious what everyone thinks of running a 308 with a 13” barrel.
The military version of this rifle is chambered in 6.8x51 (.277 fury) and the pressure is much higher, resulting in more velocity. Makes sense in a short barrel for that but I’m having a hard time rationalizing the short barrel with .308.

Yeah I read the same. Pre-infusion, OPV, programmable wake time, 2 programmable volume control shots, and of course two boilers. Looking forward to figuring it out!

Well, Breville dual boiler scheduled to be delivered on Friday.
Been playing with my DF64 Gen 2 and an aeropress. Using 2wk old River Road Acadian beans. I’m about 8 attempts in and have yet to produce a drinkable cup lol.

I handled a 6” python today and liked it, but there wasn’t a 5” to compare it to. If anything, I thought it may be just a touch front end heavy.
I do have a 4” SW 66-2 and a 4” Kimber DASA already.

Anyone feel strongly about this topic? Particularly looking at Pythons, but any experiences appreciated.
