It was cool to see Welsh in this show. Interesting to see Saxons and true britons interact.
Edward is showing what conquerors English will be.
The Danes keep coming? why dont they take the fight to Norway?

Aethfled is hot but kind of annoying. no one cares for all the soilders who die. or innocents
How can I catch up on Vikings? this show is overlapping with Last kingdom

The back seasons are on Amazon Prime. If you mean the current season you'll either need a cable subscription and the History Channel app, or you'll need to find illegal streams.

I’ll get killed for this opinion I’m sure, but I’m starting to be over this show. The characters are just making stupid arse decisions and “deus ex machina” is being used seemingly 30 times a season now.

Was thoroughly unimpressed and underwhelmed.

something is off this season. i think its the game of thrones time travel issue. one second they're here, next scene they're two cities over just in time.

then again, i dont really know the scale of the locations because those all look EXACTLY THE SAME.

Just came to stop by and say that Brida is was pointless this season. Nothing that happened with her was essential to the plot. This whole season could have occurred without her. She was terrible. No clue how she doesn't get killed hand to hand combat...

England is relatively small, smaller than a good chunk of the USA states, to be clear, most of these locations are within a hundred miles of each other. Westeros, not so much, a continent, not island nation, just sayin

Brida’s character is definitely useless at this point.

I’m surprised we didn’t see more of Aelfric’s son.

This is Eivør Pálsdóttir. She does all the singing in the show.

I’m somewhat in this boat, I thought this season was incredibly weak.

It makes sense and I knew it would happen, but the shows have gone the same way the books did. As you progress in time the characters become less tied in actual history and the story becomes more of a fictional period piece instead of a historical fiction on actual events. Once that happens the story repeats itself over and over and gets stale.

Basically once Alfred dies the story loses most of its ties to actual history and its much much worse

Yeah it’s getting annoying to see Uthred constantly used and tossed aside by the Saxons.

You have this guy who is almost singlehandedly keeping the Saxons from being bent over by the Danes, and all he has to show for it is a tiny little town and a few friends. Didn’t Alfred reward him more handsomely (more land) in the books? Cookum is pretty pathetic.

Also Breida should’ve died already. Another repetitive character arc. Her whole character can be summed up to find new Dane leader and kill all Saxons.

The battles also have become less realistic. Just straight up bullrush either and slash and dice everyone around you. I miss the use of the shield walls.

BUT overall not a bad season, I liked the politics and even Lady Aelswith started to become a good character.

Extremely. Especially by Edward since he would’ve been dead in the swamp without him.

I don’t think there’s anything she can do to overcome being a repugnant, ungrateful bitch for the vast majority of the show.

Also, when is Heston finally going to die?

On second thought, when is he actually going to engage in a fight? The only times we’ve seen him fight, he got his arse kicked by Uhtred who let him go, and also by bloodhair until the curse kicked in.

Just finished.

Definitely the worst season of the series, but still so damn good. Ventured further from the book storyline than before, which is fine as it is actually more interesting to me that way.

The acting, cinematography, costumes and sets are truly great.

I do feel that the battles lost a bit of realism this year, especially the way the ‘seize-fire” happened in the last episode.

Also, I do not think Edward was cast well. I get that he is an inexperienced King who doesn’t know how to lead, but I jut really did not enjoy that actor or the way he portrayed Young Eddie.

Uhtred and Finan are not how I imagined them while reading, but I really love the actors playing them in this series.

Can’t wait for another season and to finally see Uhtred take back his home.

Do those who didn’t know Aethelstan was the first king of ‘Englaland’ wish they had left that a mystery or do you like that they revealed that mid season?

Agree 1000%. Finally just finished season 4 and was very disappointed. The storyline was dull, the wittiness of characters was non-existent, and even the new Dane leader was less likeable than previous Dane leaders.

I found myself uninterested during many of the episodes. I used to tell everyone that I knew that they needed to watch TLK. Can’t say that anymore.

It’s amazing to me that they made show Breida so incredibly unlikeable. I don’t mind her in the books, she’s like the anti Uhtred in that have had the exact same upbringing as him and chose to stay with the Norse and not go back to the Saxons. In the books she kind of gives us a look at what Untred’s life could’ve been like had he stayed.

In the show she’s just annoying, arrogant for no reason, ridiculous, and pointless, they need to kill her off for sure

They should have killed her off this past season. I have no doubt she will die in season five. I really like the show but I have noticed something - Uhtred hasn't aged a day. This show started in the 870s and has now moved past the year 911 with the death of Aethelred. Uhtred should be in his mid-50s/early-60s by now and yet he looks no older than 35 still. If the show stays true to history we should be coming up on the death of Lady Athelflaed in season five, which will be sad because I really like her character.

SPOILER!!!!!!

I'm hoping she is around for season 5. They left it up in the air IMO in the last episode. She finally stated to realize all the stupid crap she has done. Aethelhelm really needs to get his!
