Just binged a ton of episodes today. Really enjoyed it. Felt a lot different than the first 3 seasons. Like a touch disjointed without alfred’s Don Corleone type presence. But I think that makes since because without Alfred the country was tossed into even more chaos.

Also Steapa’s death was a bit out of nowhere. instead of Leofrics “oh hell no!” death that hit right in the feels, Steapa’s was just like “Dam Son” and you just moved on. They game of throned a lot of big characters.

Plus side Haesten is growing on me. What a shite stirrer.

Just binged all 4 seasons. After just a couple of episodes, I didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did. I’m all in on this show and will look into the books.

The show is actually somewhat historically accurate, just told through the eyes of a warrior trying to survive. Very interesting to see England as a bunch of warring Kingdoms before finally uniting to become one of the world’s greatest empire.

He’s got trolling down to a science. Dude knows everybody’s business and is smart enough to pit them against each other. Saxon vs Dane, Dane vs Dane, makes no difference. He’ll manipulate anybody to get an advantage. Great scumbag and well played by the actor. Athelwold would be proud.

Just a bit of a season 4 spoiler below:

I like that Stiorra went with Sigtryggr. I get the feeling that there is a mutual “like” there and almost seems like a betrothal of sorts. Will make for an interesting season 5 storyline.

Is Vikings still making episodes? I need to catch up on that show I think the last season I watched was 3 when rys Meyers was fighting for Ivan the boneless but I don’t know what streaming service to watch it on now

You can watch through Season 5 on Amazon Prime, but they haven't made the first half of Season 6 free to Prime members yet.

On behalf of the Hodors of The Last Kingdom universe, I thank you for the spoiler.

I’m on episode 2. I guess this makes his son Uhtred, son of Uhtred, son of Uhtred.

Is it my imagination or is King Alfred’s wife not as horrible looking as she was in previous seasons?

Please don’t tell me we need separate threads for TLK Hodors vs. Book Readers.

Love the show.Uhtred should definitely have a bigger following at this point. And what is with the ruling saxons having amnesia when it comes to Uhtred? They seem to remember/forget all Uthred has done for them depending on the plot line. It can get a little old.

God first. He is pagan. It’s simple. But when push comes to shove, it’s “Uhtred, we need you!”

Happens in the books too. I love the books but everyone is this

- Big bad new Dane leader is ransacking the country.

- Uhtred (who just saved the whole kingdom in the previous book) knows what needs to be done but falls out of favor with the Saxons because of some religious thing or another despite having saved their arse before.

- He goes about saving the kingdom anyway while they work to arrest or kill him for trying

-He faces the Dane leader in battle and wins

-The Saxons are saved by Uhtred! He gets no credit

-Rinse repeat next book

. Same. Dawson did a great job. By the end of last season he really came across as being Alfred the great. The vision, calmness, and control he gave the character was fantastic. When he came on screen it was definitely an everybody shut up an adult is talking moment.
