Pretty good season so far. On ep 3 that tonga kid has me rooting for him. I wish he would of done his english rough drafts though. It is waste of time for him not to do homework.

I thought the dad of dior was awful. How could you shave the head of a fifth grader to prove a point? I am def rooting for dior. His attitude is awesome. Even though, he is living in his car, he has a positive attitude. Positive mental attitude goes a long way.

Dior is the most likeable person that’s been on the series and it’s not even close. Have two episodes left though

Embarrassed to say I had never watched Last Chance U until last Friday. Now I've watched Season 1, 2, 5 and am almost done with season 3. Way too much tv for me this past week, but it's been pretty interesting seeing management styles and how different people react to them.

Ehhhh...His conversation with his Dad in the kitchen is a pretty stereotypical idiot teenager attitude. I don't want to say how he ends up. Let me know when you finish and see if you think he made a smart choice.

I think it wasn’t the smartest decision for him but bring that he doesn’t even want to consider that person his dad, It makes sense Dior didn’t want to take anything that was given to him because of his father. He’s a tough kid and I Hope covid doesn’t ruin his chance.

Think it was a pretty good decision. Getting out of Cali is probably a good idea for him

Oh I'm glad I saw this thread. I watched the first two seasons then lost interest, but I'll definitely watch this season for the local angle.

I think a couple of notable NFLers came out of Laney, although the only one I can think of off-hand is CJ Anderson.

There's 4-5 jerseys behind the coach's desk. I assume that's NFL alumni.

Free vs Having to pay for everything is a massive difference. Get out of Cali in 2 years with your degree. If he's happy though, it's his life. Can't be mad at someone for wanting to live in Hawaii.

He doesn't have a relationship with his father and he wasn't planning on speaking to him that night. I don't really blame him for not wanting to spill his guts to a man that he doesn't trust and doesn't want to be associated with.

His dad was a complete arse to Dior in the kitchen too. He could have just talked to him instead of mocking the kid. Try helping him instead of mocking him. That's what got them in the situation that they're in to begin with.

Just finished the last episode. Coach Beam and Dior are the most likable two in the shows history but this season was the worst one IMO. They should have never left Scooba.

The level of play between Mississippi JUCO and California JUCO is insane. Watching Laney after watching EMCC was like watching high school football again. EMCC and most other Mississippi JUCOs would drag their nuts all over Laney.

Although I did enjoy watching this season, I agree with this statement. As they were showing the football games I kept saying to myself that the U-High and Catholic teams of the last few years would dominate that Laney team.

I never keep up with any of them after, have many of the guys from the show made it back into the D1 or professional?

Dakota Allen played for EMCC in Season 2 of Last Chance U. He went on to play at Texas Tech, got drafted and released by the Rams, and now is on the Jaguars roster.

This year's filming was supposed to be JUCO basketball, COVID may screw that up. It was planned for a SoCal school.

They filmed the basketball season last year (2019-20), so it may actually work out well for them.

On this season, I'm only on episode three, and I'm rooting for most of these guys. Trying not to look up where they are so I don't spoil it for myself. Dior and Nu are easy to root for. Hopefully Nu focuses in school and can have a second option for his family if football doesn't work out.

Maybe be unpopular opinion but I really was also rooting for RJ. Kid seems to have a lot of pain and baggage. Something in his eyes. I just really felt for him too. I don't see him ever making it big in football, so I hope he finds his calling.

One of my favorite scenes is the Monday after his recruiting visit to Ole Miss. He walks in to Ms. Wagner's office and says

Allen - "I love Ole Miss

Wagner - "Why do you love them?"

Allen - "Their women"

Wagner - "Do you really think that's the best place for you?"

Good ole Freeze and Co. making sure them 'cruits were happy back in the day

This. When his teammates start dancing on the sidelines to mock the other team and Dior starts yelling at everyone "Quit dancing, just win". Major respect for that kid.

Bruh. His dad didn’t care about him. His dad cared about being right about him needing him. HUGE difference. Good for Dior to see right through that bullshite.

You’re assuming the offer from the dad comes without strings aka he gets to run Dior’s life again.

frick that dude’s dad from the bottom of my heart. His dad and his family COMPLETELY derailed his season. That dude was an absolute stud and then the anxiety issues hit. Does anyone really think he drops those bunnies with the attitude he started the season with? I don’t. He’s still got a shot. Good for him getting out.

That family taking away the sheer happiness and excitement of them stomping someone 60-14 with him at QB in his first start, was gut wrenching and heartbreaking. Taking that from him before he even got to the locker room. Awful.
