I'm sure I'll watch it, but part of what made Last Chance U so good was that the schools were in the middle of fricking nowhere.

This is just Successful JuCo U.

ETA: jfc Dior is just an incredibly special kid. Wow. Just finished episode 2 and that kid got me laughing and smiling ear to ear.

The best part of that episode is end of the game when the OC was talking to Dior about a 4-minute offense, then he just kind of pivoted to "well, we are a 4-minute offense anyway, frick it, just go score", and then walked away. Dior just stands there, bewildered, shrugs his shoulders with a confused look on his face like "ok good talk" .

It was Nicholls. Apparently he went to the CFL before the pandemic hit.

Two episodes in....

-Big fan of the Bay Area themed soundtrack.
-"Coach, can I get a different jersey number?"

-Holy shite Brad Hoiseth sighting in Last Chance U.
-Dior is truly an amazing kid(so far). It’s amazing how Dior’s father can’t admit his faults while approaching his kid to mend a relationship, instead of having his whole family trying to do so

Not really. Laney College doesn't have the pockets that EMCC has. I enjoyed how they integrated the city of Oakland into the storyline in a way which almost made it a character itself.

I was just about to post about this. Jake Paul-lite lives with some off the wall grandparents(?). I would love to pick their brains on a number of topics.

While his family in Berkley may be weird. It sounds like this was the only safe environment for him.

It’s his great Aunt. I think both of his actual grandparents are dead, which apparently is a good thing.

These shows always make me appreciate my stable, healthy upbringing so much.

Aren't most JuCos a last chance opportunity? Also, this College is decently funded by they mentioned that the athletics budgets & schollies are severely lacking.

I mean, the star player is sleeping in his damn car for crying out loud. Everyone knows & only 1 social worker is doing anything about it (I'm starting Ep 3 now).

Just finished the Season, I really enjoyed because the players and coach were decent people. I know there will not be another season, but with Covid the CA Juco season will be in the spring , I would like to see another Season at Layne College.

Also had a brief cameo on Hard Knocks last year

The QB John Franklin went to Auburn as a WR.

On episode 3. Coach Beam seems like a great person. Dior is having stress related to his relationship with his dad and is having panic attacks in practice. So he calls him over and gets his therapist wife on the phone to do a session with him and tells him to take his pads off and talk to her.

That’s a good human being.

It was a great gesture, but when a kid is having chest pains on the field it seems like he probably should have got a trainer or a doctor involved first.

It is the last season for Last Chance U, at least with football. This year's filming was supposed to be JUCO basketball, COVID may screw that up. It was planned for a SoCal school.

He went to Auburn as QB and then moved to WR. Then he went to FAU for a bit.

For some reason I thought he went there to play WR. Position isn't really important though, I was just adding him to the list of guys that went D1.

On Episode 6. East Mississippi, Northwest, Gulf Coast, Co-Lin and most of the other Mississippi JUCOs would absolutely destroy Laney.
