Was watching 'Back to School' recently. Of all the 80's teen actors available at that time, that was the best they could do? Just a totally uncool person who was cringeworthy in every scene of the film.

the guy in Deliverance who gets upset when they kill the redneck rapist and then randomly flops overboard cause he couldn't handle the guilt

He was cast as an uncool awkward freshman. that was basically the point of the movie. If he were cool and hip and successful w/ chicks, that negates the need for Rodney to show up and show out. You are kind of an idiot.

That's not what I'm talking about. They attempted to transform him into some cooler guy who gets the girl at the end, but it came off as unrealistic and stale.
Heck, even the scene of his skinny arse punching out Billy Zabka was weak and forced.
"Jason, you're gonna end up like your dad"

I'm pretty sure that was Ronny Cox, and he was shot.
