The Super Bowl ad was horrible but I blame it 100% on the editing. This looks great.

The first 3 movies were great. They’ve earned my expectation for more of the same. I’m definitely looking forward to this.

I’m still sad that Andy Serkis is not a part of this at all anymore. I get why. He ‘was’ Caesar and the franchise is moving past Caesar’s story. But still. He’s the best MoCap actor on Earth. It would’ve been cool if he came back to MoCap the villain and act it in a completely different way than he acted as Caesar.

I get why they didn’t. And I still will absolutely watch this. But I will miss Andy Serkis.

Let me know when they get to the movie where apes evolve into Humans again, it is their destiny.

This is like the Matrix in a way

Looking forward to it, but...

The CGI still doesn't have the charm of the prosthetics from the original films.

They're really drawing out the gap between the first film and the human astronauts arrival.

If their focus is apes and humans working together, the ape society of the novel and original films becomes pointless.

thats a fact. you would think that todays artists would make prosthetics even better than in the originals, but alas...

I'm no fan of Burton's PotA, but when I watch it I'm amazed at how well the makeup worked.

There are other humans too - seen in Beneath the Planet of the Apes - if they go that way. The telepathy angle may be a bit weird - and nuclear warhead worshipping.

Given this franchise has been so much better than the original, which really had only one hit (original) and maybe one more interesting one (time travel), they get a pass on the originality front. They have put together a far more compelling story, and it sounds like they are continuing to do it.

Also, it kinda seems like they are setting up for the sixth movie to be basically the original “planet of the apes” remake.

Are the apes still super hero’s that can eat bullets from a mini gun or have helicopter propeller blades bounce off of them?

Yeah, I know what you mean about unrealistic gun battles and bullet physics totally ruining movies about talking apes.

Yeah, I know what you mean about unrealistic gun battles and bullet physics totally ruining movies about talking apes. the premise that some drug gives the apes advanced intelligence at least follows some reasoning that I can follow. I don’t get why guns stopped working on them. I’d love to watch an apes movie where they get slaughtered after gaining intelligence. Then a few escape and they have to actually figure out how to counter firearms, but no the show runners decide to just cop out and make it act like bullets and blades don’t affect them

Conquest is a classic. And there’s no way this current series is better (and certainly not as important) as the original.

I’m just giving you some grief.

I certainly understand your point and frustration.
