Oppenheimer just won Best Picture at this ceremony. Its diversity was two white women and Remi Malek. If it can meet the diversity requirement, any movie can.

If you think every social issues can only be discussed political, than you have zero critical thinking skills. Way too many threads devolve into the broad brush stroke of "woke" without any real discussion.

And if you do want to discuss the politics of media, you can. On the forum designed for political discussions. BUT CENSORSHIP! No, censorship would be banning it outright. People don't want it moved because they know they won't get the same arguments there that they do here. It's why the same people argue the same points across multiple threads.

What if a movie’s plot suffers because it inserts political talking points into the dialogue? Is that a movie analysis or political analysis?

It's free! Quality is passable, but it is 20 years old.

Your post is exactly why I asked for examples. I agree with you. I have a decent hunch at what Chicken means, but still, there is a lot of gray area.

I'm fine with keeping out things that are overtly political and have little or nothing to do with the movie or show.

Nobody “inforces” no politics in the OT, why would anyone do it in M/TV?
Only two threads in OT that are pinned are both constantly political.
He’s just mollifying the bed wetters.

That's why they are pinned to the bottom of the OT, before that happened there were constantly new posts about the same shite popping up.

Should have a Disney Woke thread pinned to the bottom of Movie/TV board

The requirements are in effect in 2024. Oppenheimer would not be retroactively affected

Take it to the poliboard. Wish admins would make a thread about this crap.

These are exactly what I want clarification on. This isn't political at all, it's social and societal issues. It's got nothing to do with political or government.

The people that will immediately call you a pedophile or a groomer for saying you like a tv show accusing others of "stifling discussion" is a hot take.

The 96th Oscars (2024) aired 4 months ago for movies premiering in 2023. Oppenheimer met the diversity requirements and won Best Picture, plus 6 other Academy Awards.

I actually agree with you here. Hit the RA button though, that would take care of shite like this. But read my above as well. A lot of these discussions regarding race swapping, making a straight historical person gay, etc. is societal and not political at all. There has to be a difference here with what Chicken is saying.

It is social, but when it gets brought up, it always devolves into buzzword crap. I would love to have discussions on some of these issues with people in a respectable manner. But it never fails it goes like this:

Of course they race swapped the main character to black! You know what they are trying to do!

What's that?

Oh you know!
Q
Ok? What's that?

Being woke obviously!

That is what way too many threads here boil down too.
