Yet you'd be perfectly willing to accept the believability of characters such as Superman, Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman?
With those characters now in existence, it's perfectly acceptable to have Bruce Wayne healed by way of some futuristic, extraterrestrial drug.
It really depends on how they work it into the story and how much Bale can put up with. He's 40 now. By comparison, Cavill is 30. If this movie comes out in 2015, Bale will be that much older. I'm not saying it's not possible, I'm saying that if they want to do Justice League as a franchise, they better film the movies back to back to back, otherwise you'll have a 50 year old Bale running around like an idiot. Batman did that in some of the comics, as I recall, but his age was a main focal point.
I'm willing to accept pretty much anything in a comic book movie if it's explained in a way that doesn't feel like a canned, piece of shite explanation. If the movies were more campy than realistic, I'd be willing to accept more, but the extraterrestrial drug has to be organically used. And frankly, I just don't see them doing that.
ETA: At some point, Bale will have to bow out. If they want to continue in this universe, and they want to maintain that level of continuity, the mantle of Batman will have to pass to a new character or they won't be able to do it anymore.
If I were the studio, I would revamp the Batman series prior to doing Justice League with a younger man.

or they could turn him into the old busted up version of Batman we see in the Batman Beyond cartoon series or in Kingdom Come.

Christian Bale just turned 39. Michael Keaton was 38 when Batman was released in 1989. Just saying.

frick I hope this doesn't happen. Nolan's Batman should be done. He had a completed arc. People don't go to a Batman movie to see Christian Bale (people tend to bitch about him actually), they go to a Batman movie to see Batman and Nolan's spin on the universe. This is no longer an actor driven system in Hollywood. Putting Bale in it wouldn't really increase the profits. Nolan's, sure, but not Bale's. Let the Nolan's series just die and start from scratch with a new Batman movie, but please leave the origins out.
The thing about these massive convergences of characters/people from diff movies is that there has to be a lot of compromises from several parties to get the movie made. I agree that Bale wasnt the best choice for Batman and that the series doesn't need him to draw audiences. BUT, we don't know what's going on behind the scenes. Nolan's got some pull now, so he might have insisted on Bale as part of the package. Or, maybe he was sick of Bale, but the suits insisted on bringing him on because of the numbers. We'll never know. Lol. But I don't give a shite either way as long as Nolan's aboard in some capacity and the flick finally gets made.

Right exactly, but in Batman Beyond, the mantle is taken up by Terry McGinnis. I already suggested something similar and think it may have to be the way they move forward with it.

Plus, I may be one of the few that never really liked Bale as Batman,
I'm with you there.
I loved him as Bruce Wayne but he was just missing something as Batman. His Batman never did any of the things that Batman can be famous for in the comics. Like superior detective work, being paranoid and having a backup plan for your backup plan and so on.
I still hold Nolan's trilogy close to my heart though.

Just saying Michael Keaton should come back? Come on Rolltide. I could use the support on this one.

Again, I'm not saying Bale is too old now. I'm saying that if they want JL to be a franchise, they better strike while the iron is hot, so to speak, and get a series of flicks out before Bale (a) gets tired of it and (b) gets too damn old.

I never liked Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne or Batman. He was too old for the character IMO. I always envisioned Batman starting out with his war on crime sometime in his late-20s or early-30s. That's one of the reasons why I loved Batman Begins so much. Michael Keaton was just too old to play Batman in that stage of the character. He was just starting out and he was already closing in on 40.

that could work pretty well IMO
just make JGL the guy that takes up the mantle and have Bale be a bitter old man in a cave (b/c Catwoman never could get over her klepto issues and left him) who only comes out when shite really hits the fan.

I could easily accept a Batman in his 40s or 50s. Age does not tend to bother me in regards to Batman until the actor gets around 55 or so.

I can't argue this. That being said, being 35 years old, at the time of his casting I knew him as Mr. Mom and Beetlejuice(I was a fan of both roles). The fact that he actually pulled it off and won me and many fans over has earned him much respect from me.
That and his movie My Life.

You are Counting on support for a Tiger from a bama fan, but you can't Control his opinions like a Cop.

Oh I'll find a way. I'm quite resourceful. Just ask my mother's dog, named Murray.
