You've never read any of the comics that these characters originated from?
Yeah, I have, its just I typically don't think of it when reading comics based around Batman since there is rarely a concrete continuity. If you put Bale back in JL, then that would be a concrete continuity that Superman was somehow around for those events and could have stopped them instantly. Superman could have found and launched the nuke into orbit before Bane knew what hit him. He could have found the Joker from the moment he escaped the police station and had time to save both Rachel and Harvey.

The Avengers sure could've used War Machine's help. I bet Iron Man's going to be in more than a few tight spots in IM3 but where are the rest of the Avengers to help?
You're going to have to loosen up that line of thinking you have or you may have a rough time as these movies share universes more and more.

frick I hope this doesn't happen. Nolan's Batman should be done. He had a completed arc. People don't go to a Batman movie to see Christian Bale (people tend to bitch about him actually), they go to a Batman movie to see Batman and Nolan's spin on the universe. This is no longer an actor driven system in Hollywood. Putting Bale in it wouldn't really increase the profits. Nolan's, sure, but not Bale's. Let the Nolan's series just die and start from scratch with a new Batman movie, but please leave the origins out.
I agree.
Bale should be done as Batman.
New Batman in this potential JL movie should have nothing to do with TDK Trilogy. Bale as Batman in this movie would ruin the trilogy.
And also studios really need to let go of doing origin movies everytime they do a new superhero. I'm sure the concept of doing comic book movies without really getting into an origin story would be amazing.

If you watch the dark knight returns you see how Batman and Superman Co exist in the same universe. They only interact with each other when necessary. Superman pretty much just tends to metropolis.

Well, I think he was an instrument of war by the US government in The Dark Knight Returns, so I'm not sure if that's the most accurate and close portrayal.

Im honestly not that pumped for a JL movie. Never thought much of Aquaman or Wonder Woman. Still, Batman and Superman will get me in the theater.

What people are assuming is that, if this all does indeed come to fruition, Christian Bale will be playing the same Bruce Wayne/Batman from The Dark Knight Trilogy.
That doesn't necessarily have to be true. But...what other actor would you cast as Bruce Wayne/Batman? He's the actor most people identify with the character today. He's got star power and will put asses in the seats. Why re-cast the character when such an A-lister can be brought back?

Still Superman knows Batman can kill him so he stays or of his way.

Bring back Michael Keaton.

Cast an unknown. And make it very young. You want an actor that will take ownership of the role for a very long time.
Christopher Reeve was an unknown and now he is synonymous with Superman.

Easier said than done. A Justice League film is a very risky endeavor. You don't just cast an unknown in its most important role and hope for the best. You have to go with the known commodity. Christian Bale headlined a multi-billion dollar franchise in The Dark Knight Trilogy and also has an Oscar to his credit. It would be INSANE to re-cast the character. Bale and Nolan alone bring legitimacy to the film.

JGL as Batman. Bale as retired mentor/brains behind the JL (sort of what he was to Terry in Batman Beyond).

Any other incarnation of Batman besides Bruce Wayne in a Justice League movie just would not work IMO.

The difference will be is that I bet Marvel addresses it in IM3...Thor's not been heard of out in Asgard...Cap is busy doing something something, etc. Unfortunately, they've already made TDKR with no alluding to any other superheroes.
It matters...there are clearly no other superheroes in Nolan's universe as set up in his Batman trilogy.

I'll agree to disagree with your point about Bale but this we can agree on. Bruce Wayne has to be Batman in a JL movie. No way around that.

Don't know...I'd have never pegged Chris Hemsworth as Thor, but that dude's Thor now. Doesn't have to be a known commodity...might be better if he's not. How many people really known Henry Cavill outside of those people who watched the Tudors?

I could give you a run of Batman or Nightwing that, if they were your only exposure to DC, you'd never know there were other superheroes.
I could go on all day gentlemen. It really just comes down to personal preference and I'm willing to bet your preference will change as we see more and more shared universe movies where other heroes don't show up in each others movies.
