tried again and boom Aliens from the Alien movies.

Not really, the alien at the end was like neanderthal alien to the aliens from alien. It seems that they evolve later down the road also or possibly what they become depends on what host they are in. The whole larvae stage was skipped and the head was different. Either they evolve or the end product depends on what the host is.

If human life on earth came from the engineers DNA then where did all the other life forms on earth come from?

The engineer drinking the goo on the unnamed planet at the beginning of the movie showed that somehow, the Engineers were responsible for introducing DNA into some world (be it Earth, or somewhere else).

Then we are shown the main characters in their search for the beginning of life, which leads them on the wild chase to the planet where the Engineers manufactured the weapons to destroy worlds they were finished or unhappy with.

We see Elizabeth thwart the Engineer's attempted takeoff with the bioweapons and then we see what happens when an engineer is implanted by a face hugger...an Alien (like the ones from the previous movies).

So, the questions that were answered were:
1) where we came from (the engineers), and
2) where the Aliens from the movies came from, engineers implanted by a face hugger.

Ergo Ipso Facto: they made us, we found them, they tried to kill us with biological weapons, Aliens are biological weapons.

Watched this movie last night, then watched the 20 min Youtube video that Pilot posted. Damn it helped a lot.

I still dont know why they wanted to destroy Earth/Humans.

As someone stated earlier, I had no freaking clue this movie had any relations to the Aliens series. The more you know.

Also the Youtube guy ripped Michael Fassbender a bit, but I think he did a hell of a job. I mean he played a droid for crying out loud.

When they carbon date the engineer's body and it's "2000yrs give or take" one theory stemming from that is that JC was one of them, sent to help us get our collective sh#t together. After he was promptly crucified it pi$$ed the engineers off and they were gonna 86 our a$$es with goo.

I thought he did well. Like other droids in the other alien movies he was able to do some things that appeared "bad" becuase he isn't human and isn't bound by ethical delimas or emotion.

Looks like he's signed on to play david in the sequel which is good. Guess we won't get an E named droid to continue the alphabetic sequence of naming the robots.

Finally watched that. Solid review, and I agree with most of what he said. And a lot of what he said is stuff that I was thinking when I watched it (except the Charlize = droid? thing, which I don't believe btw), he just went into mroe detail than I had put into any of it when I first watched it.

My first thought was that the Engineers helped man evolve from a cro-magnon or some other bipedal precursor into homo sapiens.

The fact that the whole "dispersing himself" occurred near the water could be at some point where an ice age is melting down and his Engineer DNA goes into water that reaches an ocean and allows many forms of life to advance to the point where larger life forms "walk out of the water" more or less.

Shaw had abdominal surgery yet she climbed out of the surgical tube without assistance then she had multiple fights within hours of surgery

I figure the surgical tube was there for weyland since it was calibrated for a male. Why would he have it there? For what purpose?

I found it hard to believe the biologist had mo interest in looking at the corpse of the engineer but he tried to pet the cobra worm thing

he was scared shitless at the time they saw the corpse. by the time he saw the worm, he was trapped overnight and looking for something to pass the time
