I honestly didn't leave the theater with a mountain of questions. I just enjoyed the movie.

I think it is bad marketing to release it with "questions will be answered" because then you are accepting the premise that you left a bunch of questions unanswered.

Same here. I think that's why I liked it...thought it was really good.

But I rarely try to dissect movies when watching them. Then I come here and start wading through the giant thread and I was like "Well, I guess there's that.."

And people brought up some solid points. They were just things that I wasn't really worried about when I was watching it. That's why I want to watch it again.

Yeah, I just remember a lot of "why did they do it like that" and "that guy would never do x"

Crap you could say about every movie.

Kind of liek that crazy dude who critiqued The Phantom Menace, there were some solid points but a lot was just "why do that when you could just do this".

no way. That was 70~ minutes of pure genius

Virtually everything he brought up was a valid criticism of the writing/production of that movie

It really was. I'd say it was more like 80% real criticism and 20% he didn't like how they did it.

I don't think he was "starting humans" but definitely advancing them from whatever form they were into homo sapiens.

Just like the squid things were only parasites... but when combined with the alien DNA they started walking upright.

I think Scott confirmed that they were. But he wouldn't confirm if it was Earth or not and said it didn't matter.

I'm not one to overly critique movies actively, but Prometheus just flat out didn't explain much of anything for you to form a half-justified opinion of anything besides, they created us, something changed to want to kill us, they failed/had an accident, tried again and boom Aliens from the Alien movies.

My brain can't completely shut off or my living will would accidentally kick in.

Thanks for posting that. The idea that Vickers was an android as well didn't even cross my mind.

I just saw this movie a few weeks ago, and I must admit, I had no idea this was a prequel to Aliens. I lost my shite the last scene of the movie.

This.

I thought the premise of the movie was great, and it delivered.

Only thing that bothered me that I saw on here, what was the point of showing that Charlize's characters father was the head of the company funding the project? It leads you to believe she has some big purpose, then nothing happens.

But again, that didn't bother me during/after the movie, only after I read it here.

So, the questions that were answered were: 1) where we came from (the engineers), and 2) where the Aliens from the movies came from, engineers implanted by a face hugger. Ergo Ipso Facto: they made us, we found them, they tried to kill us with biological weapons, Aliens are biological weapons.
