You are lucky to be able to binge thru the whole thing. I was late to the party, and got to do that for the 1st four seasons. I had to wait for the rest of it.

Being able to binge a whole series at once is so rare these days. Enjoy!

I watched it the 1st time on a 42" non-HD TV. I'm almost finished with Season 4 on my 3rd rewatch on a 65" HD TV. I never really noticed how cool the intro is, especially in the later seasons, because my old TV was so bad.

I stumbled upon this show last year during a long international flight. I DEVOURED it. One of my all time favorite series now, sci-fi or not. I did find it ended while leaving material on the table, Googled and saw the book series goes a little further so now it's on my radar to eventually read. I'm giving it a little space so that I can forget it and read it fresh.

It's so weird how so many people experience the same thing with the first few episodes.

I also remember a failed attempt to start this series before I finally committed to it. I think it was the Miller storyline I didn't like... it just seemed like such a ham-fisted detective noir spoof or something. At the time it seemed borderline cheesy. Now I kind of think it's a brilliant homage.

Probably a hot take but after finishing season 1 it feels like Andor took a bunch of the style of this and turned that into something very similar.

A little disappointing because I loved Andor but you can't really ignore how similar these series are.

The story changed over time. I thought the main focus got sidelined a bit too soon . First 3 seasons , at least , were epic.

Her and Draper were great. Chrisjen had some of the best lines. Amos , Miller, Dawes & Ashford.. all awesome.

Amos GOAT

I'll second that. He and Homelander have a presence in their scenes it feels like at any moment they could snap like a rubber band and kill everyone in the room for little to no reason, even if they are quiet and in the background.

I'd read the books already. This thread reminded me of the show, so I started watching it last week.

I feel like Draper was miscast. Draper is supposed to be an imposing Samoan woman. Not some pouty, perpetually angry Latina.

I'm only a few episodes into Season 2 though. So maybe her character gets better.

She does.

And FYI, Frankie Adams is a Samoan New Zealand actress. Not some 'pouty Latina'.

Well, she's not. And she's not exactly a dainty flower either. I felt she gave one of the more believable performances, at least early on. Towards the end, I felt they messed up her character some, but not terribly much.

lIke I said, maybe her character gets better. I'll find out as I go through the series.

My first impression of the character wasn't what the book portrayed though.

You'll warm up to Draper (or well.. there's nothing really warming about her... but the actor does a good job with the character). I've read the books and watched the series. I can definitely see how casting might feel weird, though, but that sort of adjustment is always pretty normal for me when I see a adaptation of books I've read.

I still don’t like the actor they picked for Holden

Mainly because I always will picture him as Nathan Fillion from Firefly

Funny you mention that. I watched episode 1 last night and it reminded me a lot of Andor in that there seemed to be so much pointless conversation. I did not make it to the end of 1.
