Just think of that as the sandbox that was created to tell you the character and lore stories.

Now, I must warn you - we were relatively late watching it, too, just about 7 or 8 years ago, but still - the things the fans experienced in real time, you might not with a binge. Without much spoiling (some is unavoidable if you search for things, so be forewarned about that), we were prepared for the flash forwards, flashbacks and "flash sideways" (something effectively created for the show). As long as you are prepared for the supernatural elements and those plot devices "the flashes", it is a great show and worthy of GOAT consideration.

My best advice is - try to experience it from the characters' perspective and not try to rationalize every single detail out.

Excellent Analysis. May I add, just dont try to have a answer for every single thing. Most main things are answered but if you are a guy who wants to know why a certain thing happened and why, you may get frustrated

Just enjoy the ride

GOAT show for me and honestly, there is no close second. I watched it when it came out and took the ride with everybody and I have re-watched it many many times. It still holds up and is an enjoyable watch no matter how many times you've seen it.

Starting the last season today and honestly this is a show that makes you grateful to watch it all back to back and not have to wait a week between episodes and a year between seasons

Alot of the fun and way before you could just record it and watch it later. If you missed it, you were scrambling. I guess you could record it on VCR if you knew you were missing it.

It was fun, but it was 6 years. It was a long ride. I think that is why there were more emotional responses to the finale and last season, because of the time involved.

Knocking it out all at once, I think you can make a better judgement of the show without emotion getting in the way.

Also, once you finish the show, there is an official Epilogue you need to watch. Don't go to the link below until you finish the show. It is awesome and a lot of people didn't see it because it was released the next year after the show had ended.

I want to say, from like season 3 or 4 on, they played the previous week's episode before the new one. I feel like I remember that being the case if I ever missed an episode, maybe not though.

Ummm, no. TiVo and iTunes were not only around then, but the very next day you could watch the episode for free on ABC.com. Damon and Carlton had a podcast every week that they’d go over the episode and answer fan questions. No one was watching LOST on a VCR.

Haha, maybe you are right. I just know that if I missed one I had to work to find it early on. But you are likely right.

No spoilers to the OP, but a bunch of people also misunderstood the ending to an incredible degree to the point where idiot journalists still argue with Damon and Carlton on what the show was really all about.

Also when that fat piece of shite GRRM lit into Damon and Carlton about the ending of LOST (FYI to the OP I loved and still love the ending to LOST), what incredible balls by him. That a-hole couldn’t write an ending if his life depended on it. Both Damon and Carlton bit their tongues for nearly a decade, and then when Game of Thrones ended rightfully ripped into that morbidly obese turd.

People bitching at the end of LOST were only complaining about one real thing outside of that extreme misinterpretation: the answers. I’ll tell you what they weren’t bitching about: the characters. With the exception of a single character, I think all the main characters had wonderful arcs and satisfactory conclusions to their characters.

What were people bitching about at the end of Game of Thrones on the other hand: the characters. Pretty much every character that was alive past season six was betrayed in one manner or another and actually united the country on how terrible it was. LOST fans are still extremely divided on the ending of LOST, but no one defends the ending of Game of Thrones.

Yep. Overwhelming majority of those that argued it was a bad ending, their main complaint showed that it went completely over there head. It was a fantastic ending.

That Epilogue I posted was a shot at these exact people by Damon.

For the record, I loved the show, every season, and the ending. The epilogue is like a sweet cherry on top of the ending.

Rewatching Lost and to not spoil anything for OP, there was a scene of her running on the beach with those big baby feeders bouncing up and down...

Tried to find a gif, to no avail

If anyone wants to do a rewatch, a really fun way is to find the Lost Chronologically torrent. Someone arranged the whole show to be watched in Chronological order. Its a very different take on the show and really interesting. I found it through this site and usually recommend it here too when we get a new Lost thread.

I'm still iffy on the ending, but yeah, GoT is freaking awful. Lost ending is divisive, but it's not awful like GoT or HIMYM.

Yeah, Juliet is sexy in a weird way that you can’t quite put your finger on it on why she’s so attractive.

EDIT: By the way, there is a movie where she and Angelina Jolie have lesbian sex and are nude, just FYI.
