just got finished with my annual Christmas rewatch. great comedy. if they would have made it just a little bit more about Christmas it would have been one of tGOAT "Christmas" movies.

She aged like a fine box of wine.

Here’s your money, bitch.

She said there was an emergency.

Remember seeing this in high school with a bunch of friends, and all of us laughing so freaking hard at Ryan Reynolds opening in the fat suit lip syncing "I Swear", whole movie is great.

Geeze to think that was 20 years ago, time does fly.

This one is a must watch every year. I never even saw it until the last 5 years or so too. Don’t know how this one escaped me, but I have this board to thank for bringing it to my attention.

lol. I was just about to type “strange, i would’ve guessed closer to 15 years old” and then I saw the date of OP, and I was still off 5 years. What is time.

Haha. I did the same, then realized I posted in this thread 10 years ago.

Great movie.

I drove a Grand Prix in college- this is brought up a lot around me

The scene after he drops her off after the first date 'it's like the Deep South Pole...if there was one' is outstanding. Every year, I wonder how many takes that took for Amy Smart to say 'I forgot my gloves' with a straight face.

'I go in for a kiss, then she wants a hug... and I end up giving her a body shake.'

Your names are Clark and Darla?

"How many times a day?"
"Eight"

I know what I'm watching tonight now.

It was a perfect role for her. Played to her strengths beautifully. And she nailed the pseudo-philosophical pop singer trope.

"Mall people, they come and go...mall people, they just don't know."

The kid's hockey game scene deserves consideration for the pantheon of modern comedic scenes. Had me in tears.

One of my favorites in the rom-com genre and one of the best Christmas movies.
The fact that 2005 is almost 20 years ago makes me sad.

Watched it as part of my regular Christmas movie rotation yesterday. Love it.

The ice hockey montage where he gets hit with the puck and then he bobsleds on the medical board has me in tears laughing everytime. I know it's coming and just absolutely lose it.

ETA: It's streaming on Hulu (and I'm guessing Disney+ too) for anyone who wants to watch.
