Alrwdy binged the Macho Man, Screwjob, Brawl For All (which I forgot even happened), and Von Erichs episodes.

I guess I'm going to have to watch the Benoit episodes, but I don't want to because it's just so horrible.

My biggest takeaway from the whole thing, though, is how great Scott Hall is in his interviews. I don't think I've seen him lucid and that sharp maybe ever. He's so great at putting the viewer into thf scenario and the world. Others are also great, the whole Russo v. Cornette thing gets very old very fast to me, but I know whey they're there.

somewhat tangentially related, but a few years ago some friends were over and we got high and stumbled upon what culture's wrestling videos and that was it for about 4 hours

My favorite show on TV, and in my opinion, one of the best. Very well-produced.

The New Jack episode was highly entertaining.

All through the episode, they bring someone in to make a big outrageous accusation.

Then New Jack comes on, and you think he's going to deny it. Instead he says, "frick yeah, I did that shite. Lemme tell you what else I did."

That's one of the very few episodes I didn't care for. New Jack is a thug POS who goes against everything the business is about. Purposely trying to injure, maim, and kill guys? He belongs in prison.

The show takes you behind the curtain and gives clarity to stories that have basically become urban legends over the years. It’s extremely well done, and I never miss an episode.

Loved wrestling growing up but these episodes remind me that save for a few most wrestlers and everybody else involved are pieces of shite

You are correct. There are very, VERY few "good" guys in the business. I've worked in the business in various aspects, and some of the guys that fans would think are so nice and genuine are some of the biggest pieces of shite.

Snuka had a lot of skeletons in his closet. I went to school with his son Kane, who was born in 1975... I have memories of Snuka (when he was home) climbing the fence surrounding the apartment complex pool and seeing how far he could leap across. This was around 85, 86 or so. As a kid, I thought they (Kane & his mother) were his family. It wasn't until much later on that I discovered that he had an entirely different family, and that Kane was an illegitimate child. Kane was a heckuva football player (as well as extremely intelligent) and ended up playing for Harvard.

That episode was hard to watch.

They're disturbing but at the same time two of the best episodes in the series with how they tie it all together.

Got to give some details there. I figured most of the folks today were less carny and more subdued than their counterparts from the 70's, 80's and 90's.

A couple guys who stayed on the straight & narrow were Bob Backlund and The One Man Gang. Both stayed away from the drugs and parties and remained faithful to their spouses. I've seen so many guys cheat on their wives I couldn't even keep count. Pro wrestlers are some of the worst human beings you'll ever come across. Shawn Michaels, Marty Jannetty, Scott Hall..... all pieces of shite. Jake Roberts and Ted DiBiase were bad back in the 80s/90s. Sad that fans judge these guys based on their on-screen personas without knowing much about their real-life ways. As far as current guys, I've heard bad things about both Rollins and Reigns. Sasha Banks, too.

Back in the 70s and 80s wrestlers partied like rock stars. There's plenty of great stories from that era about drug and alcohol abuse, bar fights, ring rats, etc. Nowadays most wrestlers are happy to stay home, work out, and play video games. There's still a few guys like Randy Orton that get into trouble but its a different environment. Better in some ways, worse in others.

You have to be a special kind of crazy to be a wrestler anyway, and I'm sure the road and the beatings just make it worse. It's still no excuse for so many of these guys being such assholes.

Everyone always knew Michaels, Hall, and "the kliq" were the biggest pieces of shits in the world, but all of these interviews and behind the scenes things now really just reveal how awful they were.

I actually have turned around a lot on my stance on Bret Hart. I respect him now more than ever. I used to not like him, mainly because he was heel in WWF in the mid 90s and then didn't really catch on fire like he should have in WCW.

But what I've really found astounding is just how big of scumbags the behind the scenes people are... Just as much as the wrestlers it seems in many cases. The Bruce Prichards, and Cornettes, and Russos of the world are all massive assholes. Vince being the king of them all. He's really just a sleazy promoter who became a billionaire by being a psycho.

The brawl for all episode really pissed me off... Here you have a B-teamer in Bart Gunn legit kick everyone's arse, the he gets shite on by the company because he did what he was supposed to do.

Same thing with the Puter guy who could have broke Kurt Angle's arm in a real fight during Tough Enough.

Their fake world gets exposed too much and their reaction is to punish the guy is legit instead of pushing him. It's all pretty sick it seems.

Most of these guys had no other alternative to make a living. Big, strong guys who are mostly ex-athletes who weren't athletic enough to make it in professional sports.

If you are a legit wrestler you can try MMA and make a few bucks in the UFC or you have to develop real job skills. Back then, MMA wasn't a legitimate option as a career, so it was wrestling or broke for a lot of guys.

Wrestling has cleaned up a lot over the last 10 years but the product is dog shite.
