1.5
And that’s mostly because of ScarJo’s well displayed rack.
Maybe I should give it a 2?

This movie was straight dogshit.
I did enjoy the retarded dinosaur though.

The Derposaurus reminded me of the Rancor from Star Wars.
I'm betting that's what inspired it.
Only it didn't pay off too well.
"Oh look, they have a 'tard troll!"

Hey, the fast and furious movies still go on and they haven’t had a good plot in 20+ years.
Let me try…In the next Jurassic Park, they’ll find new dinosaurs in space and bring them back down to earth. Upon landing on the ground, it will be found that Spacasaurus has a rare mineral imbedded in its skin that can be harvested to make lethal chemical weapons. With the help of Blue (the velociraptor), the protagonists embark on a quest to prevent Dr. Richter from getting his hands on the mineral.
Here's your cease and desist from the creators of Dinosaucers...

Me and my 12 year old saw it last night.
It was pretty ridiculous, although I thought it was better than the last 2.
My 12 year old wanted to see dinosaurs eat some people, and it did deliver on that.
The T-Rex scene was just so absurd

I said the exact same thing during the movie - That was a Rancor with more legs.
I've never walked out of a Jurassic movie saying "that sucked" until this one. The plot was nearly as bad as the locusts from the last movie. The worst part though was they never made you feel ANYTHING for any of the characters and everything that happened was incredibly predictable.
Gee...here's 4 other crew members on the boat, we don't really know anything about them and they haven't said much at all. I wonder if they'll die.

Why did they not aim for the beach when beaching the boat

Dominion was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
This wasn't in the realm of that bad IMO.

People love dinosaur movies, even if the plot is smooth brain dumbed down.
The first was great because it was written by a good author. The latest movies were written by committee probably...by untalented hacks bouncing dumb ideas off each other until they had something resembling a plot

Dominion at least had characters I cared about in it. I had zero attachment to anyone in this movie, and I'm not talking about going into it. That's normal. By the end of a movie, I should feel something for at least one person in the movie, and I just didn't.

I was actively rooting against the guy at the end because letting him die would have been more surprising. Then came that damn flare.

Yeah, that was weak. The whole family surviving was also absurd

He should have absolutely died.
They should have fleshed out what happened to his kid, like maybe he couldn't save his kid, which is why his marriage fell apart, and then in the end, he was able to save the family by sacrificing himself.
Or something. Anything that had some type of emotional payoff.
My 12 year old even asked "Dad, why was the guy at the end the only person the people cared about dying?", which illustrates how little they set that up, to where in her mind, he was the same as the side character deaths, and she didn't understand why the characters on the screen cared about him more and not the randoms.

100% he should have been raptor food in the forest.
Then whole T. Rex sequence was ridiculous. There's no scenario where the teenage girl would attempt to haul and then inflate a raft like she did. It was beyond stupid. And the T. Rex was on them in just a few strides, then quick camera angle change, he's magically 50 feet FURTHER behind them, but still closing in... they're dead. All of them. No ifs ands or buts.
* And finally, who do they think is buying the absurd narrative that “people got tired of dinosaurs”, and that the only way to keep the parks going is to invent new, genetically mutated monsters?
They rolled that out at the first Jurassic World movie, and they keep trying to make it a thing. It’s freaking ridiculous, and is actually a peek inside how Disney views their own park philosophy. Clearly, they have a fear of their own parks becoming obsolete. Galactic Starcruiser?
Dinosaurs have fascinated people and science for over 150 years. And there’s no way InGen would have access to more than a couple of dozen species. That’s only a tiny fraction of another tiny fraction of all the known (and unknown) species to have lived throughout the Mesozoic. 180 million years or so. And in this magical movie world where we could bring back ancient DNA, there’s no reason why even older or younger time period animals could not have been scienced back to existence.
Point is, unlike with Michael Crichton‘s original books, these idiots have no clue of what they’re doing or why.

Next movie, a troop of boy scouts finds dinosaur poop with plastic shoes and backpacks in some of the poop.
