quote:yeah the if she was hot argument doesn't hold much water. the reasons for making hot girls naked for no reason is very apparent. first example that pops in my mind is for the movie swordfish. the situation where halle berry was topless did not at all call for nudity but it was a stunt to get people to go see the movie. guys wanted to see halle's boobies. what is the reasoning behind making an unattractive heavy set woman constantly naked in non sexual situations? it's to elicit a negative response
It's not a question of ok. It's a question of why. You wouldn't question Dunham being naked if it's a sex scene. If she's naked in scenes that have no logical reason as to why she would be naked, it begs the question as to why she is naked.
Don't be a dummy.

Yeah. "Oh, you don't like seeing the talking naked pear? Well, that's your problem; societies problem."

Why is she naked? Because she can be. Because it's her show. Because she wants to challenge the thought that you have to be conventionally attractive to be naked on TV. Because she wants to show that people are naked a lot of the time. not just during sex.
Just a guess - I imagine the people who tuned out because they didn't want to see her naked weren't her target audience anyway.

You say this as if it's so cut and dry. It's not.

Jesus, dude. Relax.
I never called her a hero.
I never called her a hero.

I'm well aware of why she does it, and her faux anger about it being questioned makes it all the more douchy.

Why couldnt she have said that instead of accusing someone of being a sexiest and trying to humiliate a guy thats asking a question?

She single handedly defeated body issues and the evil men who created them
Posted on 1/11/14 at 12:13 pm to wildtigercat93
Well she's given those answers for over two years now, yet people still ask the same question.
Posted on 1/11/14 at 12:16 pm to TotesMcGotes
Then say "ive answered that plently of times, next question"
Not
"WHY DO YOU HATE WOMEN YOU a-hole. I BET YOUR GIRLFRIEND HATES YOU"

I'm not saying they handled the question well. Just telling you what she's said in the past.
Posted on 1/11/14 at 12:21 pm to TotesMcGotes
You gave an excuse to her response. Im just telling you thats a bogus excuse

No shite. If I wanted to see that, I'd tell my wife to get naked.

I don't know if you're being serious or not, but it's not cool to talk about your wife like that.

An Aggie Hipster who loves Lena Dunham and makes copious use of memes when posting online? I smell a "two percenter".

Why can't there be a show about 20 something millennials (if that's the term) being successful, not being a financial burden on their parents, and not being self-involved douche bags.
That sounds about as realistic as a team of pink unicorns who solve cold cases (though I'm surprised CBS hasn't tried that concept as a "procedural" yet).
But seriously, the Lefties who run Hollywood aren't interested in promoting self-reliance amongst the Millenial generation. They prefer "Pajama Boy" to Marcus Luttrell, if you get my drift.

Lena Dunham is like the illegitimate child of Hollywood and the NY Times. She's narcissistic, academic without being intelligent, desperate to be contrarian while simultaneously adopting trends, and ultimately substance-less.
Not only is this a perfect description of Lena Dunham, it also accurately describes the problem with this "Millenial" generation.

So it's ok to be naked on TV of you're attractive, but if you're not, you're doing it because you are fishing for negative reactions?
we are talking about the entertainment/glamour industry, right?
