Watching for the first time tonight and about half way through. What an awesome movie. Very entertaining.

I just finished it on the HOBO and it was every bit as fricking stupid as I thought it would be from the trailers. Completely unfunny hipster trash. No message, no arc, just nothing redeemable about the movie. Ooh, look, a gay Nazi for Hitler, isn't this edgy? Hitler eats unicorns, because Hitler bad, get it? Why aren't you laughing? Get him up against the wall. Time to finish the last few episodes of Band of Brothers. You know, something that has value.

I didn't get it either. I know the director is from What We Do in the Shadows and I loved that but I don't know what this was supposed to be

I keep seeing it suggested. Every time I start thinking that I may watch it, I watch the trailer again and wonder what the frick are you people smoking?

No it doesn't, you fricking moron. This is a movie that portrays Hitler as a surrogate father enjoying hijinks with young boys at Nazi youth camp, and I'm the one who wants Hitler to be portrayed better? The whole movie makes Hitler into Buddy Christ for fricksakes.

I thought it was a cool little movie. The kid did a great job as the lead.
And you were right, Hitler from the mind of a 10-year old quirky kid is not expected supposed to be accurate.
Not sure how a person could think that it is supposed to be. Kinda weird someone would be upset by that.

This ^, you moron (I’m talking to Saint Alfonzo). You forced him to reveal a mild spoiler point to wash away your stench opinion.
It’s actually a very interesting and intelligent take on the nazi phenomenon. Here’s a glimpse at how very bad ideologies get perpetuated and enforced on societies by manipulation of the youth.
A wise viewer can see parallels to the indoctrination of any ideology in any time period, including the madness of crowds (to borrow a phrase from a Douglas Murray) that we are seeing today.
