Leonardo DiCaprio was born same year. He has been in some big movies. I still love The Aviator, The Revenant, and The Wolf of Wall Street. Plus many more.

My Left Foot made him famous but Gangs Of New York and There Will Be Blood are what everyone immediately thinks of with his performances.

Crazy thing is the guy barely acts and only chooses parts he thinks he can do justice. Who knows how many great roles he turned down that he could have nailed.

talking about my my generation, Joaquin > Leo

Leo is so underrated. I recently rewatched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. He put on a masterclass.

Baw, cobbles and dabbles in acting, a true Renaissance man. The embodiment of “La Longue Carabine” in Mohicans.

His Kentuckee long rifle in Mohicans, is a one of a kind. Handcrafted as an original gunsmith of its time period would have produced it, down to its extended barrel. “Killdeer” is one of DDL’s most prized possessions.

Phoenix’s performance in The Master is one of the best of I’ve seen.

And PSH had a great performance in the same film. The fact Phoenix even stands out next to PSH speaks volumes.

Christian Bale has to be in the top 4 list for me.

I put Bale above Phoenix, his range is unmatched.

The Machinist and Batman Begins were released 1 year apart. Not to mention Vice, American Psycho, Out of the Furnace.

I feel like DDL is in the same generation, I don' know. I'd have him #1 if he is, but if not, it's Leo for me.

Gangs of New York
Catch Me If You Can
The Aviator
The Departed
Blood Diamond
Body of Lies
Revolutionary Road
Shutter Island
Inception
J. Edgar
Django Unchained
The Great Gatsby
The Wolf of Wall Street
The Revenant
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Killers of the Flower Moon

Nobody has ever, EVER, had a 20 year run like that. That's not even counting his earlier stuff like Titanic, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, etc.

Phoenix was 24 years old at the time of filming when he played Commodus in Gladiator. Think about that.

I'd rather not think about it cause I was 21 years old at the time of filming when he played Commodus in Gladiator.

And he has ONLY one Oscar. That's an embarrassing oversight.

Denzel Washington is a heavy hitter as well.

I'd love a prequel (of similar quality) about a young Bill and Priest Vallon. Maybe start with Priest in Ireland, then new arrived, rise to power, etc.

Your local theater didnt carry Joker: Folie à Deux, Beau Is Afraid or Eddington? I mean, if they didnt I get it, and understand why you never saw them, but c'mon c'mon (pun intended)
