Been meaning to watch since it came out last week since it’s getting some small Oscar buzz. Finally got a chance today. It’s alright. Good performances from Clooney and Sandler and movies in Europe always have great cinematography.

It’s about Clooney who’s an old famous actor at the end of his career and is starting a to regret alienating his family and taking his manager (Sandler) for granted. It’s just kinda hard to feel sorry for a millionaire actor. Strong ending, though.

I tried watching this twice now on recommendation from a friend.

I just can't get through the first 20-25 minutes. Boring. Self-serving. Another Hollywood-giving-Hollywood a handjob type of movie. But you're right, the cinematography is above average.

Honestly, there are very few movies these days that do NOT fall into the following categories:

1. Down with Whitey
2. LGBTQRXYZn must be celebrated (usually hand-in-hand with #1).
3. Conservatives are dumb hillbilly racists and Liberals are the new answer for Godliness (usually hand-in-hand with #2).
4. Look at us, we're Hollywood. We're better than you, so worship us.
5. Look at us, we're Hollywood. Our lives are so much harder than yours even though we make millions per movie.

This Jay Kelly movie hits on a few of those from the list.

Please Hollywood, make some movies that are just plain fun (Kind of like Bullet Train). I don't need any more social agenda-ing. Just make me entertained. I'm an old dog, I won't be learning anymore tricks, thank you very much.

It was interesting and slow. I dont know if I would recommend it unless someone asked about it.

I did like how they used Clooney's movie in real life for the characters movies

Yeah, it was complete typical Hollywood circle jerk. Not worth watching.

Gave it a watch when I was pretty tired so I thought maybe it was me but damn that movie was boring and uninspired. Thought having Sandler in it would make it watchable. Nope. Just a drag the whole way through. Only scene that I liked was his best friend though acting school calling him and empty vessel then getting into a scuffle after the bar. The ending, “I’d like to give it another shot.” was so predictable and lame. Two thumbs down.

Mrs. Cluster Cock and I watched it last night. We both thought it was 30 minutes too long. Some of it should have been cut out.

The daughters playing scene toward the end hit hard for anyone that's ever gone out of town for work but other than that I didn't dig it.

Eh, I enjoyed it. Thought Clooney did a great job playing himself. It got very meta at some points. I appreciated all the protagonist's family and career struggles. Overall, I thought it was very well done.

Adam Sandler - ok, he can act in a dramatic role, but the problem is his face. He's got a naturally goofy look that makes it hard to take him seriously. And when he's upset, it's the natural reaction of the audience to laugh at him. Basically, the man CAN act in a drama, but he needs a different face if he's going to continue to lean into it.

I was excited to watch this, but made it about 30-40minutes and turned it off.

I’m just not a big Clooney fan. I feel most of his movies are just some sort of mockery of something else and not funny.
