Name a bigger POS.
Watching Jaws on SYFY.
Mayor Larry Vaughn might be the biggest POS in movie history.
Brody should have rightfully thrown his sorry arse under the bus when the mother of the dead little boy slapped and blamed him.
Edit- OK, I've had a few today and that's probably why he's getting under my skin, even though I've watched thus movie 20 times.

It’s crazier what he is involved with in the book.

Never got eaten by the shark, unfortunate.

Really? Haven't read the book.
Do tell...in short.

Been years since I read the book but he has some shady investment deal with the mafia, real estate/tourism money laundering type of deal.
If he closes the beach down than the mobsters lose out on the summer tourism money. And they are pretty much gonna kill him over it.

He was also Mrs. Robinson’s husband.

Seriously. He refused to close the beaches after a girl gets killed under unknown circumstances by a shark? He should have forseen a serial killer shark terrorizing a small new england island beach, which was completely out of character for any shark let alone a great white?

Honestly, the movie is a much better story. Kinda like The Natural.

Yeah the book is really pulpy, sleazy garbage. All the characters are totally unlikeable

If you think Mayor Vaughn is bad in Jaws, he's an even bigger douchecanoe in 2.
I mean how many times does Chief Brody have to be right before you start listening to him??

He knew his town needed 4th of July revenue to survive. He’s pro business.

Mayor Bates in Red Dawn gave him a run for his money. The community was indeed fortunate to have a shepherd like him.

One of the few times I’ve liked the movie better than the book. In this case it’s not close.
