Between takes, Gunn sat with a bunch of reporters and revealed his approach to the Man of Steel – one that focuses solely on Superman’s story without getting bogged down in larger universe-building.

Based on the teaser trailer this was a complete lie

Clearly, I'm not their target demo any longer. That seemed totally underwhelming, and I LOVE the MCU.

Snyder didn't understand the character at all and wanted to make him cool and "modern"

Superman is bright colors. He is the sun shining in the darkness. He is all that is fundamentally good.

Well, this movie movie is going to be filled with one liners and slapstick humor, much like the Reeve versions. A lot will be straight cringe though.

I mean, it’s got a shite ton of views right now and is seemingly the most watched trailer of the year when it’s all said and done, so I doubt it.

Plus after nearly 50 years it seems as if they’ve finally pulled off Luthor, which that alone should get people in the seats. I know some people just think he’s a real estate mogul, but he’s so much more than that and they haven’t even gotten close to getting him right on the big screen yet.

We still have plenty more to find out and see before it comes out.

I am worried about Guns humor with this but I love Superman.

His Guardians of the Galaxy films are universally hated, no one liked Peacemaker, his Creature Commandoes animated series is unentertaining, no way he can pull this off, right?

I think 600+ would be a great start for the first film of a new universe. People need to stop thinking a movie needs to hit a billion in order to be considered a success.

Rachel Brosnahan on the relationship between #Superman & Lois:

“They’re soulmates. They’re united in the fact that they are both in the relentless pursuit of truth and justice, but they approach the world in totally different ways.

She’s somebody, because of her profession but also because of who she is, she questions everything. She questions everyone. She’s trying to see around every corner and that’s the way that she faces the world.

And Superman is just radically present in every moment. He solves every issue that’s directly in front of him. I think the ways that they are opposite is something that is fun to watch. It’s fun to watch them bump up against each other sometimes…in more than one way. And then it’s fun to watch the way in which they really are united. That’s a little bit of a nothing burger of an answer but they both work hard and play hard and love hard.”

It's James Gunn. Which means it's going to be very Guardians of the Galaxy like in many ways. I think he has a pure-hearted desire to reset Superman as DC's emblem of hope, but the large supporting superhero cast are almost surely going to get the Guardians treatment, i.e. they'll have almost nothing in common with their actual comic book characters and basically be colorful slapstick-action-comic relief, essentially taking the "brand" of Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, etc, and slapping it on whatever unrelated plot device he feels like. It'll be successful (probably), but it won't really be Guy Gardner or Shayara Hol, just as most of the Guardian characters were almost universally unlike the comic characters that spawned them. A heavy dose of camp is likely.

One thing is for sure, though... that dog will sell more tickets than all the other actors combined. That was a bit of genius and will create an absolute wave of female interest to compliment the male "Bang! Pow! Zoom!" fans.

Easily, if not more. The dog alone will draw in alot of non fans. I mean, look at the reaction online?

I think the public is really craving Superman again. As long as Gunn does not do something stupid or gratuitous they will print money on this one.
