the trailer straight ripped off the MOS trailer (which is one of the GOAT trailers regardless of your thoughts on the movie itself)

This

I noticed it immediately

The flashes of light and everything are almost identical

The ironic thing on all of this: Gunn works for DC now, so DC could almost use this as a "see, Superman is evil now, so we are done with him" going forward

Just slap that Elseworlds logo on this and the upcoming Joker film and let the insanity ensue.

While the idea isn't totally new (Wicked) for major characters, I think it'd be fun/interesting to make these types of movies if done correctly. And not talking about episodes or moments of evil/good but going full out to re-imagine known stories.

Superman: Red Son would make an amazing film.

It’s not just Superman. It’s like he took Man of Steel specifically and twisted it upside down. The country shots with the truck and sunset and the monologue are the exact same way Man of Steel was marketed. It’s a pretty ballsy move, but not sure why he’s going after DC

Go back and watch the trailer. It doesn't specify a location, but it sure as hell looks like someplace like Kansas or Iowa to me.

Right...it's probable to be the Midwest, but I've seen places in Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas that look like that as well.

I was just trying to put some wiggle room into your checklist on how this is not exactly like Superman, as we aren't completely certain on a location.

You think people should be branded pedophiles because the made jokes about pedophilia? Or do you think that just joking about pedophilia makes you a pedophile?

Dark Superman and riffing on the mythos are two very different things.

Even commie Superman was ultimately a great hero, just misguided.

Snyder's Superman was just tonally deaf.

Disney taking Gunn off of their kid-friendly stuff is one thing. Blacklisting him from ever working again is another.
