His appearance screams Spinoff to me and I am here for it.

If that’s the case hopefully we get another iteration of John Clark

Watched the first 2 eps tonight, was confused for a bit but it seems to all be getting tied together now

Are they releasing 1 ep a week or something now?

They've done an excellent job so far...

Except the complete absence of a security detail for the Deputy Director of the CIA (or apparently secured parking either).

I have watched the series in an on again off again way. I can't remember when/how he got this appointment? Help?

When Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan season 4 begins, Jack Ryan is deep in the throes of his new responsibilities as the Acting Deputy Director of the CIA alongside the Acting Director, Elizabeth Wright. After helping to thwart the impending war between the United States and Russia in season 3, the President of the United States awarded Wright and Ryan medals for their bravery and promoted them to their new positions. After all, it's the least he could do after they stopped World War III.

And for the sudden reappearance of Cathy Mueller. Totally absent in 2 & 3 and now they are in a, seemingly, steady relationship.

Glad they brought her back but still mystified at her total absence in the last two seasons.

Episodes 3 and 4 are up.
Why say July 7th and then they come out the 6th?

It’s the way Amazon does it for their original stuff. They go by GMT time, I don’t remember but it’s either 8PM or 7PM central time.

Yeah that was lame. He was out of the country for a good portion of 2 & 3 so it should have been easy to just have her show up at the start and end of each season.

as is Zuleikha Robinson, good thicccckk. But it's pretty obvious already she is either the big bad, or close to it.

The sequences with Ryan, Chavez, and Mike were sublime

You know how some movie projects brag they were “given access” in order to allow their films to be more accurately depicted? These folks clearly had no access but I won’t even fault them for that because it’s the CIA.

But even with what’s available in the public domain anybody can get close enough or fake their way through it. I will fault them or their advisors for that.

And a complex storyline doesn’t automatically make the storyline good.

I think Peña is miscast as Chavez. I like him as an actor but don’t buy him as a lethal operator. That sequence of him firing his rifle while talking to Ryan was lame.

The dialog is wooden in general. The marketplace infil and exfil are . And the Lagos and confirmation intrigue are yawners.

I thought eps 3-4 upped the unrealistic aspects of this show substantially. Many sideways glances and rolled eyes exchanged with my wife. Will still finish it because I’m a sucker.

Just sit back and enjoy it. It’s entertainment, not a documentary.
