You can probably buy a copy for around the same price though

Absolutely - I love that movie.

It's not your typical war movie, though. Enjoy.

Great movie. It likely is not what you are expecting.

It's honestly more like LOTR than a war movie.

Main character is on a long difficult quest knowing he's headed to some messed up shite.

It's a lot more like Heart of Darkness than Lord of the Rings. I think the Redux version is worth the extra time. Great movie.

It is based on the novella Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, so yes more like it.

LOTR is a very unconventional comparison. No fantasy elements in Apocalypse Now.

It's more an exploration of the darkness in the human psyche than a war movie. It is also a great movie.

Yeah it's more like the novel it was written after. I'm sure you've read that since you haven't seen the movie.

I mentioned LOTR as a reference because it's probably something you've heard of and wasn't trying to act like the smartest guy in the room.

I knew it was based on heart of darkness, but I’ve never read that either just heard of it and that it was based on some German mercenary that worked in the Congo for the Belgium empire in the late 1800s I believe.

It's really a horror of a movie.

FYI the three-hour and fifteen-minute run time Apocalypse Now Redux is on Netflix. I actually think it is a better cut than the theatrical version.

Agreed. I think it’s the definitive version.

Seems like everyone owned this movie in the 90s.

Love it or hate it, you have to see it as its a big movie in the history of cinema.

Its a lot of peoples favorite war movie..not mine but it helps to have read Heart of Darkness in high school.

Plus its $4 according to you. So yeah, its better than buying a can of SPAM.
