Just so we're clear, they SHOWED 3 spiderwomen in costume, but gave zero context, no back story, no 'Peter Parker' level origin explanation of WHY they're 'Spiderwomen, at all?
Well, yeah. That's super bad writing. It's also incoherent 'yay-women!' nonsense. Some may call that 'woke', ala Mary Sue style. But it's not as bad as gender or race swapping characters, like has been done dozens of times in the MCU and other places.

You haven’t explained why it should be woke honorable mention. Honorable mention means almost making the list, but being just shy of it. If it is not woke, as you stated, why would it be woke honorable mention.

He's as he's always been. Talking about the good and bad that's coming out of Hollywood. With an emphasis on comic book-based content because he's a lifelong fan, collector and oh yeah, owned a comic bookstore for 10 years.
And as Hollywood studios dump more and more $ into trash projects like The Acolyte and Rings of Power, it only stands to reason that's going to get more and more attention from fans and content creators who cover this stuff.

I find some confuse woke with having more ethnic, homosexual or female characters in a show or movies than they are comfortable with.
For me woke is exaggerating social-political narratives to the extreme to make extreme and one-sided socio-political points or statements, and part of that might be the overreaching use of diversity in the cast to do so.
I don't consider the former without the latter to be woke. I think some tend to do so.
