How do they explain how they get their powers then?

They don't but they don't actually get powers in the movie.
quote:

Other than a flash-forward cut scene, what is SHOWN about them as Spiderwoman?

Nothing which is why it's weird that anyone would consider it woke. The don't actually have powers. It's all in the dream of the bad guy and the movie shows and Dakota Johnson tells him he was wrong about it.
quote:

Where's the backstory?

Nowhere because it's a bad movie but also more about Dakota Johnson than them.

How'd Madame Web do at the box office?

Pretty terrible.

Fans of comics and good stories in general hating on terribly written movies and shows qualifies as 'weirdo rage bait' how/??

And 'why' woke? Well, for no damn reason other than 'reasons', these 3 girls are Spider women with zero context given. Because 'women!'. And they're not even Mary Reys, or Mary Sue's, but still manage to bumble their way into the beating the bad guy who has some sort of undefined superpowers. He's NOT Spiderman either. It makes no sense.

Holy fricking shite at the rotted pretzel you're twisting yourself into to try an defend your golden god's vomit.

How is that a woke issue and not a “man that’s some shitty writing” issue?

I agreed it wasn’t a top 5 woke. Do you even read or naw.

What am I dodging? I'm asking a legitimate question. What about it's fault is woke but isn't due to just being badly written and badly produced?

Why are you dodging answering that question about nuance. I'm trying to have a legitimate discussion here on why the list in your OP seems reactionary more so than factual or based in evidence.

We all read that you refuse to acknowledge the movie isn't woke.

Seemingly because no movie can just be bad because it's bad.

It’s woke because director/cowriter S.J. Clarkson was an unqualified DEI hire.
How’s that?

She directed episodes for the following shows:

Turn: Washington’s Spies
Dexter
House
Bates Motel
Succession
Jessica Jones
Orange is the New Black
Ugly Betty
Heroes

She wrote for the miniseries Anatomy of a Scandal

If she was co-writing (it doesn’t appear writing is her strength) I don’t see the lack of qualifications here.

Madame Web is bad because it's bad.

Happy now? I don't agree with Gary. I was giving him an out, as to WHY it may be 'woke', but imo, Echo is both worse and more woke.

Jeeeze.

I enjoyed it.

The Acolyte should have been #1. Chanting lesbians in Star Wars is peak clown world.

Yeah, Rings or Acolyte were gawd awful. Joker2 was a good top 5, but there was no franchise to destroy, no legacy like with SW or Tolkien.

A made-up reason, so, not very satisfying.

The movie is really bad for reasons that are present in the script, and in the execution and editing of that script. It's bad. But it being on this list is dumb. It's also an example of a youtuber taking a lowblow shot at a notorious flop just to include more content his serfs will recognize, and thus get more engagement. It's no accident that 4 of the picks are from giant franchises, regardless of how well those things were received by audiences outside of the rage bubbles these guys (and many people here) operate from.

An honest top 5 should include more of the stuff like the american society for magical negroes, which was a small budget film that no lost no one much money, but was also clearly hated by everyone. Why isn't the book of clarence on this list? More than fits your definition of woke, it cost $40 million, it made 6 when it was released in January, and no one liked it. That's an actual disaster.
