I love terrible ideas...because nobody is going to watch this but the Director's friends.

Its fun when studios lose money by trying to break people.

I’m becoming more convinced that Paramount and Disney hate their shareholders and want to go bankrupt

The "modern, more inclusive" remake won't just be the same movie with people of color in it.

They will change the traditional themes and messages of the movies.

I can hear it now, at the end of the movie Zuzu says "teacher says every time a bell rings a tranny has their pronouns used"

I'm sorry, did you just assume this fictional trans-person's pronouns?

You should read about the original's initial reception by the country's more conservative parties.

This is never a good idea.

Remaking any classic without changing the name / obscuring the connection is about 99% doomed to failure because there typically isn’t much of anything to improve on.

It’s better to take a film that had potential but failed, fix the flaws, and try again rather than try to recreate a classic.

Hell, they did an experiment at one point where a script was sent to all of Hollywood for a remake of an all time classic without pointing out what it was. Every studio passed and only one noted it was Casablanca.

He apparently never heard of The Wiz.

They should definitely spend $100m on this, and call everyone who isn't crazy about the idea some sort of "istophobe".

Going by box office, no one else saw it in theaters 40 years ago.

Can't wait to see the scene where Bailey stumbles out of Martini's drunk as a skunk, speed off in his Charger wrapping it around grandfather's tree killing him instantly.

Was already done in "It Happened One Christmas" in 1977. Marlo Thomas as the Jimmy Stewart character, Orson Welles as Mr. Potter, Cloris Leachman as the Clarence the Angel character.

They had garlic eaters in the original. How much more diverse do we need to get.
