Watched it last night, it dragged on for so long.

I personally loved it. Start to finish it had me hooked and I really didn't want it to end. Some quick thoughts:
1. As somone who is still close to the same group of friends he had in high school, I was hit by waves of nostalgia when they reunited as adults.
2. The casting of the adult characters was so well done, it was almost like those kids had grown up and became those people.
3. I liked the CGI. I thought it was over the top and more so fun than scary.
4. The movie had some jump moments, but wasn't as scary as the first one.
5. This was a big budget, popcorn flick horror movie...and we don't get many of those and no telling when the next one will be.
Going to have to think on this one a while, but when I put together my Top 10 list for the year, this will be up there high.

Just got out.
Certainly not as good as the first, but I enjoyed it. The casting was incredible.
As good as both movies are at building characters and portraying their friendship in an endearing and realistic manner, neither of them have been very scary. It just never seems like the stakes are that big. The visuals are incredible and the ‘scares’ are enjoyable, yet never seeming truly menacing.
The boss ending of both films was pretty cringey. First with them just beating the frick out of It, and this time with basically taunting him to death. I actually laughed out loud as they were bullying it into a cowering baby.
So, as a horror movie, It fails miserably.
But...as an enjoyable drama-comedy-thriller-friendship movie, it is really good.

Not all of his books had a shite ending.

He was basically being roasted.
Too bad Richie didnt have the personality of Eddie Murphy or Bill Burr. shite would have been already handled back in the 80s.

I was actually shocked by the anti homosexual content in this movie. Didn't think you could get away with that in this day and age.

I thought it was pretty good.
Like Bill’s books though, the ending let something to be desired.

Did they film the kid parts while filming part one? Finn looked like he was 10 while he's 16 in real life now.

I thought Hader was great.
The one who shined though was Ransone as Eddie. I thought he was great.

Went last night and it was pretty solid. Not scary but it had a some creepy scenes. Pennywise killing the kid in the Funhouse was the best scene in the movie.
They definitely left a lot on the cutting room floor. Got to give them props for attempting to include the Ritual of Chud. Didn't quite pull it off but they tried.
I didn't like how everything was played for a laugh. Eddie gets stabbed in the face and cracks a joke, wtf was that?

I'm late to the party, but saw it yesterday. I'm in line with what seems like the consensus. I liked it, but there were flaws and I didn't like it as much as the original.
The strong points, the camaraderie of the original got replicated well. It really felt like a continuation of the original.
The horror scenes were a mixed bag, but there was some genuinely good stuff. The old lady and Pennywise under the bleachers were the sort of scenes I liked about the original.
The ending wasn't bad but not great. It is sort of limited by being relatively straightforward. The ending was sort of what it had to be.
Trimming 30 minutes, especially from the second and third hour, would have helped a lot. When the searching for tokens got repetitive, the movie dragged. Cutting the bully subplot, some of the generic scares leading to getting to the final would have helped.
Too many of the scares suffered by leaving Pennywise or human actors out and using generic CGI monsters. There were good scares, but it was a mixed bag and the weaker ones like Paul Bunyan just became CGI monster jump scares.
On the whole, it was a solid sequel, just not as good as the first. It wasn't a sequel that negatively influences your memory of the first movie.

Finally got around to watching this today.
As others have said, the movie was too long. Could have easily trimmed 30 minutes off the film.
And the de-aging CGI in the kids bothered me because it was too obvious
